Method and apparatus for producing a decorative surface
A method for producing a decorative and structured surface with different gloss levels by feeding of a workpiece to a lacquer application device, application of a first liquid lacquer layer over an entire surface with a coarse structure in which a difference in thickness between thicker areas and thinner areas is at least 50 μm, in order to apply a second lacquer layer on the first lacquer layer wherein after curing the second lacquer layer has a different gloss level than the first lacquer layer.
GLITTER AND USE THEREOF
The present invention relates to a glitter comprising a foil coated with metal pigments, more particularly aluminium pigments, to a method for producing it, to the use thereof in cosmetic products, coating materials such as paints, varnishes and printing inks, for example, and in adhesives and modelling and/or moulding compositions, and also to cosmetic products, coating materials and adhesives, and modelling and/or moulding compositions which comprise the glitter.

Method and apparatus for producing light-responsive surfaces on opaque materials
The present invention provides for a method of creating a lustrous surface in opaque materials using ridge angles, and valleys of varying depths cut, imprinted or pressed into the opaque material. The combination of the light reflecting ridges, angles to reflect more or less light, and a shadow effect arising from a combination of the valley depths and the angle of the ridges allows one to use light and shadow to create a pattern or series of patterns in the opaque materials. These patterns are created using a process whereby a design is first created, then cut into a master blank using some type of manual or computer-aided method. Next, this pattern is inlaid, pressed, or imprinted into a blank panel composed of the opaque material. In some embodiments, this opaque material is allowed to set, thus creating a finished article of manufacture in the form of a panel.

LOW-GLOSS METAL PLATE AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME
A low-gloss metal plate includes a metal body and a plurality of metal pattern units. The metal body has a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other. The plurality of metal pattern units protrude from the first surface and are arranged to form a regular pattern. One of the plurality of metal pattern units has a top, a base and a sidewall. The base at least partially overlaps with the first surface. The sidewall connects the top with the base and forms an angle less than 60° with the base.
KINETIC DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
A kinetic device (100) includes a rotator (102), a hub assembly (103), a mover (108), and a pinion assembly (110). The rotator (102) has a rotator axis (102X). The hub assembly (103) is coupled to the rotator (102). The hub assembly (103) includes a hub (104) having an aperture (107). The mover (108) rotates the rotator (102) and the hub assembly (103). The pinion assembly (110) is coupled to the aperture (107). The pinion assembly (110) includes an arm coupler (114). The mover (108) is configured to rotate a portion of the hub assembly (103) so that the pinion assembly (110) and the arm coupler (114) rotate about the rotator axis (102X).

Decorative molded article, method of manufacturing decorative molded article, transfer sheet, and display device
Provided are a decorative molded article that prevents sparkle and has a high contrast, a method for producing the decorative molded article, and a transfer sheet for use for the decorative molded article. The decorative molded article 10 is provided with a protective layer 2 having unevenness on a resin molded article 1, wherein in the surface of the protective layer 2, the arithmetic average roughness (Ra.sub.x1) according to JIS B0601:1994 at a cutoff value of 0.8 mm, the arithmetic average roughness (Ra.sub.y1) according to JIS B0601:1994 at a cutoff value of 0.08 mm, and the ten-point average roughness (Rz.sub.x1) according to JIS B0601:1994 at a cutoff value of 0.8 mm satisfy the following requirements (1) to (3): 0.30≤(Ra.sub.x1−Ra.sub.y1)/Ra.sub.y1≤0.85 (1), Rz.sub.x1/Ra.sub.x1≤15.0 (2), Ra.sub.x1≥0.14 μm (3).
ARTICLE WITH CURVED PATTERNS FORMED OF ALIGNED PIGMENT FLAKES
In a printed article, pigment flakes are magnetically aligned so as to form curved patterns in a plurality of cross-sections normal a continuous imaginary line, wherein radii of the curved patterns increase along the imaginary line from the first point to the second point. When light is incident upon the aligned pigment Hakes from a light source, light reflected from the aligned pattern forms a bright image which appears to gradually change its shape and move from one side of the continuous imaginary line to another side of the continuous imaginary line when the substrate is tilted with respect to the light source.
