20170282637 · 2017-10-05 · ·

The problem of using cames for assembling stained glass pieces into a decorative window is solved by mounting the stained glass pieces in retaining channels and by using spacers in the retaining channel for maintaining gaps between adjacent stained glass pieces. The resulting stained glass assembly includes at least two stained glass pieces mounted within a frame and being secured in at least one retaining channel that is mounted to the frame so as to extend at least partially along the inner periphery thereof; and spacers in the retaining channel between each pair of the at least two stained glass pieces that are adjacent so as to create an opened gap therebetween. Such a stained glass assembly can be used as a decorative window in a door or as a dividing wall for example.

Communication object having visible images and obscured portions for illuminated viewing, and method of making

A novelty communication object, such as a sign or printed object (book, brochure, greeting card or the like), and method of making, wherein at least one page, surface or sheet of the object has not only directly visible images, but also a plurality of cut-outs or other portions at least partially transparent or optically reactive to light, which can become visible when a user shines an illumination source such as a flashlight at the page and projects an image of the transparent or optically reactive portions onto a neighboring wall or other surface, or backlights the transparent or optically reactive portions for direct viewing. The plurality of transparent or optically reactive areas are preferably selected so that the illuminated image has a different visual appearance than the directly visible image, thereby enhancing the overall narrative content of the communication object.

EMBOSSED SHEET AND DECORATIVE SHEET
20170266866 · 2017-09-21 · ·

An embossed sheet configuring a decorative sheet includes a sheet-shaped base that has translucency, and a plurality of reflective portions provided on one surface of the base. Each of the plurality of reflective portions has a reflective main surface that reflects incident light, and connecting surfaces that are provided between the reflective main surface and the base. Each reflective main surface is rectilinear on a first cross-section and curvilinear on a second cross-section. A gradient of a straight line at a center position of the reflective main surface that is rectilinear on the first cross-section, in relation to the one surface of the base, varies within a range of ±40 degrees in each of the plurality of reflective portions. As a result, the reflective portion can reflect incident light at regular and non-regular angles.

DECORATIVE SHEET MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FROSTED GLASS-LIKE DECORATIVE SHEET

A decorative sheet manufacturing method of the present invention is for manufacturing a frosted glass-like decorative sheet using an inkjet printer including a head unit provided with a plurality of nozzles for jetting liquid droplets of an ultraviolet curable ink and an ultraviolet irradiation unit that moves together with the head unit in a main scanning direction of the head unit and irradiates the liquid droplets jetted from the nozzles and landed on a main surface of a transparent base material with ultraviolet rays, the frosted glass-like decorative sheet having the transparent base material and a plurality of dots formed in a print region on the main surface of the transparent base material and formed of a cured product of the ultraviolet curable ink by carrying out inkjet printing having predetermined printing conditions in a multi-pass manner.

SELECTIVELY ILLUMINABLE METALLIC LOOKING TRIMS AND THEIR METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
20210387570 · 2021-12-16 · ·

A trim for an object and its method of manufacture involve providing a transparent or translucent substrate defining a top surface, applying an opaque layer above the top surface of the substrate, the opaque layer defining one or more apertures through which light can pass, and applying one or more translucent metallic-looking layers above a top surface of the opaque layer. In some implementations, the trim is a selectively illuminable trim whereby a light source is arranged beneath a bottom surface of the substrate, the light source being configured to output light through the substrate, the one or more apertures defined by the opaque layer, and the one or more metallic-looking layers.

COMPOSITE STONE PANEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

An article comprising natural stone and method for forming the article are provided. A counter-relief is formed at a back of the natural stone. A light-transmitting reinforcing material is bonded to the back of the natural stone at the counter-relief to reinforce the natural stone at the counter-relief. A front of the natural stone is carved to form a relief at the front. The relief is positioned opposite to the counter-relief. The thickness of the natural stone between the relief and the counter-relief is reduced by the carving to allow light to transmit through the natural stone from the back to the front to illuminate the relief.
