Generally, the system and method of the present disclosure are designed to reduce the cost of transporting mobile homes while increasing safety by changing the wheels supported by mobile home axles from limited use mobile home tires to highway rated, closed rim tires that may be used multiple times. The system generally comprises a convertor hub configured to secure to a mobile home axle assembly and a convertor plate configured to secure to said converter hub. The convertor hub is designed to replace the standard axle hub of the mobile home axle assembly and work with existing parts of the mobile home axle assembly whereas the converter plate allows for the attachment of a closed rim wheel.
