Methods and apparatus for attaching a center cap a wheel of a motor vehicle. A specialized lug nut may replace existing lug nuts to provide a threaded receiving area for a screw. The screw may be used to secure a cap in place. Some embodiments include an adapter to match a lug bolt pattern to a cap diameter size. In preferred embodiments, a lug nut is provided of specific designs, size and shape to be installable to act as a mechanism to secure a wheel to a vehicle and also act as a holder for the screw to retain the cap. The center cap may then slide onto the lug nuts (or extension that attach to the lug nuts) and then stay on by tightening a screw through the top of one or more lug nuts on each wheel.

There is provided a sensing unit mounted proximal to at least one or more bearings of a wheel hub supporting rotation relative to a spindle, and configured for detecting and transmitting at least temperature and motion information thereof. A receiver is configured for wirelessly receiving the at least temperature and motion information from the sensing unit and wirelessly re-transmitting the information to a portable electronic communication device.

A wheel rotation speed measurement assembly and a wheel hub driving system. The assembly includes a wheel hub bearer, a synchronous shaft and a compiler. The wheel hub bearer has a central shaft and an outer ring. The central shaft is hollow with an inner cavity and forms a torsion-resistant connection with a vehicle suspension. The outer ring can be driven to rotate relative to the central shaft, and forms a torsion-resistant connection with the wheel hub. The synchronous shaft is arranged in the inner cavity and has an end that is close to the first end has a torsion-resistant connection with the outer ring. The compiler is mounted at an end of the synchronous shaft away from the first end. The assembly has a simple structure and can measure the wheel rotation speed directly. Rotation speed output by this compact wheel hub driving system can be accurately measured.
