REINFORCED COMPOSITE HYBRID WHEEL CONSTRUCTION
A method and system for improving the strength, functionality and wear-resistance of a composite hybrid wheel is disclosed. Each spoke may define an airfoil shape and have a secondary wing-like extension attached thereto to generate airflow past the vehicle brakes during vehicle operation. Alternatively, the spokes may be shaped in cross-section as either an I-beam or an H-beam configuration. Customer-interchangeable wheel inserts formed from a reinforced polymerized material, such as a long carbon fiber reinforced composite, are strategically attached to one or more of the spokes. The inserts are used to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the wheel, increase its structural integrity and provide easy interchangeability in the event of damage. A faux bead composite lock ring also formed of a reinforced polymerized material such as a long carbon fiber reinforced composite can be attached to the wheel spokes to cover the composite rim flange.

Aircraft Wheel & Bearing Protectors with Integrated Internal Protection Protrusion and Fastening Member Guide
An aircraft wheel hub protector is adapted to engage an aircraft wheel including an aircraft tire on a rim. The aircraft wheel hub protector having two or more cover sections with a protective protrusion and coupling mechanism guide extending from the a first cover section and passing through a bearing race and internal surface within a hub of the rim of the aircraft wheel in such a fashion so as to provide a void within the protective protrusion. The second cover section is engaged with an opposed side of the aircraft wheel from the first cover section. A coupling mechanism passes through the void in the protective protrusion without having contact with the bearing race and internal surfaces within the hub of the rim and coupling the first cover section and securing the aircraft wheel hub protector to the aircraft wheel.
SHIELDING ASSEMBLY FOR SIDE OF TIRE
A shielding structure for a wheel having a turning axis, a rim, and a tire mounted to the rim for rolling against an underlying surface. The wheel has axially oppositely facing sides. A mounting assembly is attached to the rim to move as one piece therewith. A plurality of shielding components are attached to the mounting assembly to overlie at least a part of the tire at one of the axially oppositely facing sides of the wheel. At least one of the shielding components is made from a non-metal material and a reinforcing element.
