A system includes an inspection robot having mounted sleds, and a number of sensors each mounted to a sled. A couplant chamber is disposed within at least two of the sleds, each couplant chamber between a transducer of the sensor and an inspection surface. Each couplant chamber includes a cone, the cone having a cone tip portion at an inspection surface end, and a sensor mounting end opposite the cone tip portion. A couplant entry for each couplant chamber is at a vertically upper side of the cone in the intended orientation of the inspection robot on the inspection surface.

The removeable interface plate may define an electrical coupling interface compatible with the payload, and the electronic board may include an electrical processing configuration compatible with the payload.

The example inspection robot may also have a controller with an encoder conversion circuit to calculate a distance value in response to the movement value, a location circuit to determine at least one of a robot location value or a robot speed value, and a position command circuit to provide a position action command in response to the robot location value or the robot speed value. The magnetic levitation power system includes: a magnetic power system disposed on a wheel hub and a driver shaft, where the magnetic power system generates a power capable of enabling a movement of the wheel hub through an interaction of magnetic fields between the wheel hub and the driver shaft; a first magnetic levitation system disposed on the wheel hub and the driver shaft, where the first magnetic levitation system is capable of enabling the wheel hub and the driver shaft to be in a levitation state within a circumferential extent of 360 degrees with the wheel hub being opposite to the driver shaft through the interaction of the magnetic fields between the wheel hub and the driver shaft; and a second magnetic levitation system disposed on the wheel hub and the driver shaft, where the second magnetic levitation system is capable of enabling the wheel hub and the driver shaft to be in a levitation state in a direction of a central axis of the wheel hub through the interaction of the magnetic fields between the wheel hub and the driver shaft. The present invention solves the problems of high hardware costs, low energy utilization rate, environmentally harmful characteristics, etc. of the existing automobile power system.

A system includes an inspection robot for performing an inspection on an inspection surface with ultrasonic and magnetic induction sensors, the apparatus comprising a position definition circuit structured to determine an inspection robot position on the inspection surface; a data positioning circuit structured to interpret inspection data, and to correlate the inspection data to the inspection robot position on the inspection surface; and wherein the data positioning circuit is further structured to determine position informed inspection data in response to the correlating of the inspection data with the inspection robot position.

A robotic vehicle for traversing surfaces is provided. The vehicle is comprised of a chassis supporting a magnetic drive wheel for driving and steering the vehicle and a stabilization mechanism. The hub includes a central housing configured to house a sensor probe and enhance the magnetic pull force of the wheel by providing a continuous pathway of high magnetic permeability material for magnetic flux to flow axially through the drive wheel. The stabilization mechanism comprises a front and rear facing support element moveably coupled to the chassis and configured to contact the surface and move symmetrically relative to the chassis thereby maintaining the vehicle and probe normal to the surface and providing stability to the vehicle while traversing surfaces regardless of surface curvature and vehicle orientation.
