Wheel
A wheel includes a rim having inner and outer flanges. A first end of each flange is positioned axially outwardly relative to the second end. A pair of bead seats are positioned one adjacent each flange, and each has an axially outer end connected to a second end of its flange by a flange connecting portion, and an axially inner end connected to one of a pair of side parts. Each side part is positioned between a central well and one of the inner and outer flanges, and connected to the well by a well connecting portion. The outer end of each bead seat is positioned radially outwardly relative to bead seat inner end. At least one of the flanges includes an extended portion which extends radially inwardly, such that a free end of the extended portion is positioned radially inwardly relative to the first end of the respective flange.
Serviceable non-pneumatic tire and wheel assemblies
A tire and wheel assembly includes a non-pneumatic tire and a wheel. The non-pneumatic tire incudes a tread, an inner liner, and a plurality of spokes extending between and coupling the tread to the inner liner. The plurality of spokes have a first width and the inner liner has a second width greater than the first width such that a pair of inner liner flanges extend beyond the plurality of spokes in an axial direction. The wheel includes a rim and the inner liner is configured to be mounted on the rim with the pair of inner liner flanges fastened to the rim such that the non-pneumatic tire is serviceably mounted on the wheel.
SELF-HEALING TIRE
A self-healing pneumatic tire, which uses the sealant stored in the tire to fix a leak, is disclosed.
Bicycle rim made of composite material with wings having reinforced structure
A bicycle rim is made with a plurality of layered, each of which is formed of structural fibres incorporated in a polymeric material. The rim has a radially outer peripheral channel with an upper bridge extending between the wings for holding a tyre. The peripheral channel comprises an inner layered structure, extending between wings and at least one wrapping layered structure, wound on the inner layered structure at least at the end of the wings, the inner layered structure and the wrapping layered structure being included in the plurality of layered structures.
Spoke wheel
In a spoke wheel that includes: a rim; a hub; and a plurality of spokes connecting the rim with the hub, the spokes each having an end portion connected with a connection portion disposed at a lateral surface portion on an outside in a width direction of the rim, the rim includes a raised portion that is raised from the connection portion to the outside in the width direction.
VEHICLE WHEEL RIM ASSEMBLY
A rim for a vehicle wheel, including a spoke bed wall having: a radially outboard surface; a radially inboard surface; and a spoke hole extending between the outboard surface and inboard surface and configured to receive a spoke of the vehicle wheel; an insert having: a radially outward surface; a radially inward surface; and an opening extending between the outward and inward surfaces and configured to receive the spoke; an adhesive to provide an adhesive joinder between the insert and the outboard surface. The insert opening has a radially outboard first entrance with a first perimeter edge. The insert opening laterally overlaps the spoke hole. At least one of the first perimeter edge, the outward surface, and the insert opening is configured to provide a bearing surface to brace the spoke.
Rim with Recessed Channel and Rim Strip Apparatus and System
A rim for a vehicle wheel, the rim comprising: a circumferential tire bed surface, the tire bed surface comprising: a circumferential first bead seat and a circumferential second bead seat laterally spaced from said first bead seat, said first bead seat configured to support a first bead of a mating tire and said second bead seat configured to support a second bead of said mating tire; a circumferential rim well laterally positioned between said first bead seat and said second bead seat; wherein said rim well comprises a circumferential first step edge laterally inwardly offset from said first bead seat and a circumferential first spacer region laterally positioned between said first bead seat and said first step edge; at least a portion of said first spacer portion is radially inboard of said first bead; said first step edge extending radially inwardly from said first spacer region; wherein said first step edge is configured to provide for lateral alignment registration and/or visual alignment and placement of a first edge of a mating rim strip, said rim strip is a circumferential element that radially outwardly overlaps said rim well and extends laterally inwardly from said first edge.
Device for coupling resonator to vehicle wheel
A device configured for coupling a resonator to a vehicle wheel, may include an annular first strap assembled with an external circumferential surface of the wheel rim and fixing positions of resonators disposed on the external circumferential surface of the wheel rim; and an annular second strap surrounding second flanges formed at second edge portions of the resonators based on an axial direction of the wheel rim and pressurizing the second flange toward the external circumferential surface of the wheel rim after first flanges, which are formed on second edge portions of the resonators based on an axial direction of the wheel rim, are inserted between the first strap and the external circumferential surface of the wheel rim.
Aerodynamic bicycle rim and wheel
An aerodynamic bicycle rim, the bicycle rim comprising a circumferential clincher portion adapted to seat a clincher bicycle tire, a nose a set of sidewalls, each sidewall extending radially from the nose to a respective circumferential outer edge to form a rim body having a maximum rim body width that is greater than a maximum width of the clincher bicycle tire and spaced radially inward of the clincher portion and radially outward from a centerline of the rim body. The aerodynamic bicycle rim seats the clincher bicycle tire to form an asymmetrical cross-sectional shape in which the widest part of the rim body is spaced from a centerline of the asymmetrical cross-sectional shape and there is a tangent line tangent to the clincher bicycle tire and a sidewall of the set of sidewalls, the tangent line tangent to the sidewall radially inward from the respective circumferential outer edge.
