NON-PNEUMATIC SUPPORT STRUCTURE
An adjustable rim includes a first annular ring rotatable about a first axis, the first ring having radially extending first linear slots circumferentially spaced about the first ring, a first annular adjustment hoop rotatable about the first axis, the first hoop having circumferentially and radially extending first arcuate slots spaced about the first hoop, a second annular ring rotatable about a second axis, the second ring having radially extending second linear slots circumferentially spaced about the second ring, a second annular adjustment hoop rotatable about the second axis, the second hoop having circumferentially and radially extending second arcuate slots spaced about the second hoop, and an axially extending arcuate member having a first axial end and a second axial end. The first axial end is circumferentially and radially aligned with a first linear slot of the first annular ring and a first arcuate slot of the first annular hoop. The first linear slot and the first arcuate slot interact to move part of the arcuate member in only a radial direction.
Bicycle rim
A bicycle rim comprises a base member, a cover member, and a spoke attachment member. The base member includes a truss structure that defines at least one opening. The cover member at least partly covers the at least one opening of the base member. The spoke attachment member is a separate member from the base member and the cover member. The spoke attachment member is non-rotatably attached to the base member.
BICYCLE WHEEL RIM
A composite rim for a bicycle wheel that has a wall of structural fibers incorporated in a thermosetting polymeric material and a plurality of spoke attachment seats. The composite material includes at least one layer of woven bi-directional fibers where some fibers are in a nominal direction substantially parallel to the circumferential direction of the rim and some fibers are substantially orthogonal to the circumferential direction of the rim.
BICYCLE WHEEL RIM AND WHEEL COMPRISING IT
A rim of a bicycle wheel with a wall that, viewed in a radial section, extends along a closed line enclosing at least one annular cavity that is concentric with the rim. Partitioning the rim in three slices of equal size along the axis of rotation yields wall projections that have axially central portions that extend radially outwards to a greater extent than axially outer portions.
Bicycle wheel and relative manufacturing process
A bicycle disc or spider wheel including: a hub; a rim having a radially outer tire-coupling region, a first sidewall, a second sidewall; an axis of rotation; and a median plane. A pair of pretensioned disc or spider wheel-type structural elements are integral with the hub and with the rim. The first sidewall extends on a first side of the wheel, with respect to the median plane, on which a component of a motion transmission system or, when there is none, a disc of a disc brake is provided at the hub, and the second sidewall extends on the opposite side, with respect to the median plane. The first sidewall of the rim has a minimum distance from the median plane that is smaller than that of the second sidewall of the rim.
Aerodynamic wheel
Described herein are aerodynamic wheels. According to some embodiments there is provided a wheel for a vehicle comprising: a rim; an inner hub; an attachment assembly configured to couple rim to inner hub; a first air engaging flexible and aerodynamic surface overlaying the attachment assembly configured to couple rim to inner hub and operatively connected to the inner hub and the rim, forming a first axial surface of the wheel; and a second air engaging flexible and aerodynamic surface overlaying the attachment assembly configured to couple rim to inner hub and operatively connected to the inner hub and the rim, forming a second axial surface of the wheel, which is axially opposed to the said first surface of the wheel; wherein said first air engaging flexible and aerodynamic surface and second air engaging flexible and aerodynamic surface are adaptable to external forces and change shape, when subject to such external forces.
Composite bicycle rim
A rim for a bicycle wheel includes a radially inner portion disposed along an inner circumference of the rim, a first sidewall, and a second sidewall spaced apart form the first sidewall. The first sidewall and the second sidewall extend radially outward from the radially inner portion. The radially inner portion includes a stack of strips of material. The stack of strips includes a plurality of strips and a hole through the plurality of strips. The plurality of strips are nonparallel to each other. The plurality of strips are positioned about the hole through the plurality of strips.
WHEEL FOR A VEHICLE
A storage device for an extractable hose arranged in an installation space. The storage device includes a first housing member defining a first storage compartment. The first storage compartment is configured to house at least a portion of the hose which is extractable from the first storage compartment via a hose port arranged at the first housing member. The first housing member includes at least one spatial curved wall section eluding the contour of at least one module extending into the installation space.
Wheel with flexible wide-body spokes
A wheel with flexible spokes, including a rim and hub, and spokes between the rim and hub made of fibrous material that causes the spokes to be both lighter in weight and stronger than comparable steel spokes. The spokes are also flexible and resilient such that they can bend while retaining their integrity and strength.
Method of manufacturing a lightweight wheel with high strength flexible spokes
A method of manufacturing a lightweight wheel with high strength flexible spokes of the present invention, includes providing a rim and hub, and a plurality of lightweight, flexible and resilient spokes between the rim and hub made of fibrous material that causes the spokes to be both lighter in weight and stronger than comparable steel spokes. The wheel includes a nipple within the rim that receives the high strength spoke and allows for flexibility in adapting the spoke to wheels having differing shapes and sizes.
