BOLTED JOINT FOR WHEEL ASSEMBLIES
A wheel assembly includes a split wheel, a nut, and bolt. The split wheel comprises a first wheel portion and a second wheel portion, and the nut comprises a first portion and a second portion. The first portion of the nut comprises a thrust face engaging the split wheel, the nut defines a bore extending through both the first portion and the second portion, the bore in the first portion is nonthreaded, and the bore in the second portion is threaded. Further, the bolt extends through the first wheel portion and the second wheel portion, with a threaded end of the bolt extending through the first portion of the nut and being coupled to the second portion of the nut, according to various embodiments. The effective bending length of the bolt is greater than the clamped length of the bolt.
Multipiece Road Wheel
A road wheel for a tracked vehicle includes a first rim half and a second rim half operatively connected to the first rim half. The first rim half includes at least a first portion that is angled away from the second rim half. The second rim half includes at least a first portion that is angled away from the first rim half. A hollow cavity is formed between the first portion of the first rim half and the first portion of the second rim half.
Torque bar retention for wheel assemblies
A wheel assembly includes a wheel portion comprises a web having an inboard surface. The web may define a torque bar retention slot that extends from the inboard surface of the web. The wheel assembly may also include a bushing disposed in the torque bar retention slot, wherein the bushing comprises an open end and a closed end. Still further, the wheel assembly may include a torque bar coupled to the wheel, and the torque bar may include a boss extending into the bushing through the open end of the bushing such that the boss of the torque bar is at least partially disposed within the torque bar retention slot of the wheel portion.
DUAL VEHICLE RIM WITH LOGO APPARATUS AND A METHOD OF MAKING SAME
The invention relates generally to the field of vehicle rims, and more specifically to Logo Rims or Dual Logo Rims. The invention also relates to a vehicle Dual or Logo Rim apparatus, and a method of making same. More particularly, the invention encompasses a customized tire rim for a vehicle. The invention also provides a user to replace their existing tire rims with the inventive customized vehicle rim having, and using a customized or a personalized logo. A line of specially designed tire rims that are adorned with a variety of striking designs, sporting logos germane to sports, businesses, and popular culture, is also disclosed. The invention also provides an inventive design which is intended to provide automobile enthusiasts with an attractive alternative to ordinary tire rims. The inventive rims can be a single unit rim or two separate rims that are joined to form a single tire rim.
Wheel for a support structure
A wheel assembly includes a first rim piece for engaging a rotatable axle; and a second rim piece for engaging the rotatable axle. The first rim piece has axially extending curved friction plates for engaging a first side of a spoke structure of a tire. Axially outer ends of the friction plates engage axially extending lugs of the second rim piece to form a single split wheel assembly.
METHOD FOR PROVIDING WHEELS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES, AND ASSOCIATED WHEELS
A method for providing motor vehicle wheels made of composite material based on carbon fiber includes the steps of, dividing each wheel into a plurality of portions having small dimensions; providing a a first portion with the terminal edges designed to mate with corresponding edges of a respective second portion; mating the portions, arranging them subsequently within a respective mold whose shape and dimensions are conjugate with respect to those of the wheel to be manufactured; and bringing the mold and its contents to a predefined temperature. The method further includes injecting into the mold a resin in the liquid state, the resin being injected at high pressure and high temperature, forming the matrix of the composite that constitutes the wheel; maintaining the pressure and temperature of the mold within predefined ranges for a time interval that is required for the at least partial cross-linking of the resin; and extracting the wheel from the mold.
Wheel and tire assembly
A wheel assembly comprising a rigid wheel including a radially outer rim wall presenting a polygonal shape with a plurality of outermost vertices connecting a plurality of planar faces, and a flexible tire mounted on the outer rim wall. The tire is supported by the vertices of the rim wall and is separated from the rim faces by a space, portions of the tire located between the vertices being configured to flex inwardly when subject to ground engaging pressure.
