Flexible, dual purpose wheel speed harness and breather line
A method for attaching a clamping assembly to the frame of a machine includes attaching a sensor assembly to the spindle of a machine such that a wire harness extends through the internal cavity of the spindle and out from the spindle, fishing the wire harness through a breather line, and attaching the wiring harness to the chassis of a machine.
HUB AND ROTOR ASSEMBLY
A disc brake hub and rotor assembly for a heavy-duty vehicle. The disc brake hub and rotor assembly includes a hub receivable on and rotatable about an axle spindle of a heavy-duty vehicle. A rotor is connectable with the hub for rotation with the hub. The rotor includes a disc segment, a flange mounting segment, and a cylindrical sleeve segment connecting the disc segment and the flange mounting segment. A flange is connectable with the flange mounting segment and separately with the hub. The flange mounting segment of the rotor has an inboard facing surface at least part of which is for engaging head portions of wheel studs. The inboard facing surface is substantially planar and free of wheel stud clearance reliefs. A transition region is located between the flange mounting segment and sleeve segment and is also free of wheel stud clearance reliefs.
Hub unit bearing and method for manufacturing same
An amount of decrease C in an axial clearance of a hub unit bearing is found based on an amount of expansion D of an inner ring of the hub unit bearing, which is the difference between the outer-diameter dimension D1 of the inner ring after the inner ring is externally fitted with a tubular fitting portion of a hub spindle of the hub unit bearing and after formation of a swaged portion of the hub spindle, the inner ring being held between the swaged portion and a stepped surface of the hub spindle, and an outer-diameter dimension D0 of the inner ring before the inner ring is externally fitted with the tubular fitting portion.
HUB BEARING UNIT WITH AXIAL DISPLACEMENT LIMITER
A hub bearing unit includes an inner ring having inboard and outboard axial ends and a bearing inner race on an outer surface. An outer ring is disposed about the inner ring and has inboard and outboard axial ends and a bearing outer race on an inner surface. One ring is coupled with a wheel and is rotatable about an axis and the other ring is fixedly coupled with a vehicle. An annular displacement limiter extends radially outwardly from the inner ring and has a radial stop surface spaced axially from the inboard end of the outer ring. The stop surface engages with the outer ring end when one ring displaces axially relative to the other ring. Preferably, the limiter is integrally formed with an annular insert providing a bearing inner race, but may be separately formed and disposed about the insert or the inner ring outer surface.
HUB FOR AN AT LEAST PARTIALLY MUSCLE-POWERED BICYCLE
A hub for a bicycle includes a hub shell and an axle device. The hub shell is supported rotatably relative to the axle device by way of bearing devices. A bearing device is configured as a roller bearing, and includes two bearing rings with rolling members disposed between, and is sealed axially outwardly. Between the bearing rings, the roller bearing includes a modular unit, at which a sealing unit is configured for laterally sealing the roller bearing, and including guide units protruding laterally inwardly from the modular unit for guiding the rolling members.
Wheel end assembly having a compression ring and method of assembly
A wheel end assembly having a steering knuckle, a hub, and a compression ring. The steering knuckle may have an opening that may extend around a spindle. The hub may be rotatably disposed on the spindle. The compression ring may be disposed on the hub and may be at least partially disposed in the opening.
WHEEL HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY PACKAGING
A packaging system having an outboard guard and an outboard retainer cap. The outboard guard includes an outboard guard opening having a hole through the planform of the outboard guard, an engagement portion having an annular surface radially surrounding the outboard guard opening, an outboard bearing protector portion having an annular surface radially surrounding the engagement portion of the outboard guard, and an outer rim having an annular surface radially surrounding the outboard bearing protector portion. The outboard retainer cap is configured to be removably affixed to the outboard guard and includes an outboard alignment protrusion having a circular surface, an engagement portion having an annular surface radially surrounding the outboard alignment protrusion, and a retaining flange having an annular surface radially surrounding the engagement portion of the outboard retainer cap.
Hub and rotor assembly
A disc brake rotor and hub assembly for a heavy-duty vehicle. The disc brake rotor and hub assembly includes a hub portion. The hub portion is receivable on, and rotatable about, an axle spindle of a heavy-duty vehicle. A rotor portion includes a disc segment, a mounting segment and a cylindrical sleeve segment connecting the disc segment to the mounting segment. A flange portion connects with the rotor portion and separately with the hub portion. Optionally, the rotor portion connects directly to the hub portion. A smallest inner dimension of the rotor portion is greater than a largest outer dimension of the hub portion to facilitate removal of the rotor portion without removing the hub portion from the axle spindle.
Axle end assembly comprising a wheel hub unit and a wheel brake
An axle end assembly has a wheel brake arrangement and a wheel hub arrangement. The assembly is designed as a preassembled unit with a hollow shaft element on which the wheel brake arrangement and the wheel hub arrangement are disposed.
