A hub mounted grease cap having a sleeve with an inner end and an outer end. The outer end has an outer end surface that is opposite the inner end. The sleeve encloses a bore that extends through the sleeve. The inner end has an outer diameter that may be a press fit or threaded connection to a hub into which it is installed. An end plug has an end wall and an aperture through the end wall. There is a shaft that extends through the aperture in the end wall of the end plug. A wedge block is connected to the shaft. A seal has a portion that is located between the end wall of the end plug and the wedge block. The seal expands radially outward against the bore of the sleeve when the wedge block is drawn toward the end wall.

A multilayer structure (1) includes a metallic material (2), a thermoplastic first resin material (3) bonded to the metallic material (2), and a thermoplastic second resin material (4) that is bonded to the first resin material (3) and contains carbon, the metallic material (2), the thermoplastic first resin material (3), and the thermoplastic second resin material (4) being stacked on one another.

HUB-INTEGRATED INFLATION SYSTEM
20230249501 · 2023-08-10 ·

A hub-integrated inflation system which functions to convert relative motion at the wheel end (e.g., between the axle and the hub or wheel) into a pumping motion. The relative motion is then converted into mechanical or electrical energy, which can be used to actuate a pump of an inflator.

Bearingless hub assembly with electromagnetic drive system and associated methods
11319991 · 2022-05-03 ·

A bearingless hub assembly comprising a rim hollowed to receive a tube magnet, and magnets embedded around the circumference of the rim on both ends. The rim is capped by front and rear rim plates configured to hold the embedded magnets in place and fitted to receive respective circular magnets. Similar magnets in corresponding front or rear drive plate maintain space (i.e., levitation) vis-à-vis the front and rear rim caps by repelling each other, thus allowing the rim (and, as applied, a mechanically-attached tire assembly) to move freely with no friction. The front and rear drive plate carry forward and reverse electromagnetic actuators as well as forward and reverse levitation control units, power generators and speed sensors. These components mount 360 degrees around the circumference of the drive plates while the embedded magnets of the rim spin through when in motion.

Axle assembly with internal lubrication system

An axle assembly includes a spindle to receive a drive shaft having a rotational input about an axis and a wheel hub rotatably supported by at least one roller bearing disposed on the spindle. A tire inflation system defines a spindle gas passage to route pressurized gas from an onboard source through the spindle. The tire inflation system includes a seal chamber between the spindle and wheel hub to transfer gas from the spindle to the wheel hub, and a hub gas passage in fluid communication with the seal chamber is arranged to route the pressurized gas to a tire. A lubrication system having a reservoir is located axially outboard of the seal chamber and at least one hub lubricant passage routes lubricant between the reservoir to a roller bearing located axially inboard of the seal chamber. The hub lubricant passage routes lubricant radially outward of the seal chamber.

STATOR RING-INTERNAL GEAR ASSEMBLY FOR A TRANSMISSION DEVICE OF A WHEEL HUB DRIVE COMPRISING A PLANETARY GEAR, WHEEL HUB DRIVE HAVING SUCH A STATOR RING-INTERNAL GEAR ASSEMBLY AND A VEHICLE OPERATED BY WHEEL HUB DRIVE AND MUSCLE POWER
20230242209 · 2023-08-03 ·

A stator ring-internal gear assembly for a transmission device comprising a planetary gear of a wheel hub drive for a vehicle, the assembly may include a stator ring of an electrically operable electric motor device of the wheel hub drive for providing a motor torque and an internal gear of the transmission device for translating the provided motor torque into a net torque. The stator ring and the internal gear may be directly fixed to one another by positive connection in a non-rotatable and tension-resistant manner. The stator ring and the internal gear may form a mono-lithic unit.

IN-WHEEL DRIVE DEVICE AND VEHICLE INCLUDING THE SAME

An in-wheel drive device includes: a wheel bearing including a hub; and a speed reducer at least partially disposed in an internal space of the wheel bearing. The speed reducer includes: planet gears; a ring gear configured to engage the planet gears; and a carrier coupled to the planet gears and configured to transmit, to an outside of the in-wheel drive device, power generated by a revolution of the plurality of planet gears. A first sealing part is disposed in a region in which the carrier and the wheel bearing face each other.
