Formed in the pillar sections (7b) are a claw portion (7e) and another short claw portion (7g) which project towards adjacent pillar sections, as well as a notched section (7i) cut toward the base section from the distal end radially inward of the claw portions of the pillar sections (7b). When viewed from the axial direction, the shortest length in the one claw portion (7e) to the center of the ball and the shortest length in the other short claw portion (7g) to the center of the ball are different.

The wheel bearing has an outer ring and an inner ring, which is rotatable with respect to the outer ring around an axis of rotation and is connected to the wheel hub. A wheel flange extends from the wheel hub and, as viewed in the axial direction, has a brake disk mount, which is open in the direction facing away from the outer ring and which, as viewed in longitudinal section with respect to the axis of rotation, is formed by a recess of the wheel flange, and has a support surface for a brake disk.

A wheel drive unit for a vehicle includes a connecting member separably coupled to a constant velocity joint, a hub housing accommodating the constant velocity joint, and a hub cap to seal the hub housing. In particular, a fixing groove is formed around a first end of the constant velocity joint, and the connecting member is fitted in the fixing groove in a ring shape. When the hub cap is separated from the hub housing, the connecting member can be easily disassembled from the constant velocity joint such that inner components of the wheel drive unit can be easily replaced and repaired.

The wheel hub has a passage opening for mounting a shaft journal attached to the wheel hub by a screw connection element, and an inner toothing is formed, on an inner circumferential surface delimiting the passage opening, for rotationally fixed interaction with an outer toothing of the shaft journal, and the passage opening extends through a contact shoulder, which is formed so as to have contact with a contact surface of the screw connection element, with the formation of an orifice.

In a vehicle suspension assembly (1), a connection system (4) between a hub bearing unit (2) and a suspension upright or knuckle (3), including: a radially outer lateral cylindrical surface (16) of a radially outer ring or element (6) of the hub bearing unit, configured for interference coupling with a radially inner lateral cylindrical surface (18) of a reception seat (5) of the suspension upright or knuckle; a pair of, or three, lugs (19) that protrude radially in cantilever fashion from the radially outer ring or element of the hub bearing unit, each being provided with an axial through hole (21); a frontal surface (23) of the suspension upright or knuckle, configured for receiving the lugs (19) in axial abutment; and screws (24) fitted in a through manner through the axial holes of the lugs and screwed into respective threaded holes (25) formed in the suspension upright or knuckle, on the frontal surface (23).
HUB BEARING CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT
Hub bearing constant velocity joint in which a radially outer, annular, element of the joint is engaged with an annular hub of a hub bearing unit with a flange at a first end thereof by means of a clamping system including a screw element assembled inside the annular joint element and able to be operated on the outer side through the annular hub so as to screw it inside a second end of the hub until it prestresses the rolling bodies of the hub bearing unit, while the transmission of torque is ensured by a splined coupling between the joint element and the second end of the hub; the screw element is axially locked against an annular shoulder formed on the inside of the joint element, on the opposite side to the annular hub, by means of an elastic ring engaged with at least one annular seat formed on the inside of the joint element.

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a bearing device for a vehicle wheel in which the amount of deformation in an opening of an outer member can be reduced and decreases in rolling fatigue service life can be prevented while keeping overall weight increase to a minimum.
