The socket spanner insert includes a base body which has a screw head receptacle and a tool receptacle, and a sleeve which encompasses the base body at least in portions and is rotatably connected to the base body. In order to prevent damage to the rims when mounting and removing wheel bolts, a retaining element is provided which, during release or fastening of the wheel bolt, blocks a relative rotational movement of the sleeve with respect to the car rim and allows a rotation of the base body within the sleeve.

The disclosed methods include steps for using the devices to loosen and tighten lug nuts on a vehicle wheel.

The outer circumferential surface of the acting section is formed with a circumferential groove in which the O-ring is received. The carbon-fiber tube is fit over the outer circumferential surface of the acting section of the socket body and has an end in abutting engagement with the stepped portion and an internal circumferential surface in contact with the O-ring.

The method includes positioning a tire stabilizer between the ground surface and a tire of the vehicle, placing a wrench over the lug nut, rotating the wrench, removing the wrench from the lug nut, and removing the tire stabilizer from the tire. The tire stabilizer includes an upper block having an inclined surface, a lower block partially disposed within the upper block, and a biasing device disposed between the upper block and the lower block.
