Device for handling tires
There is provided a device for handling tires having an anchor for attaching to a prime mover and a clamping device rotatably mounted to the anchor that rotates relative to the anchor about a rotation axis. The clamping device has a plurality of engagement members connected by a mechanical linkage and a carrying body with a plurality of guides. The weight distribution of the clamping device is balanced about the rotation axis. Each guide carries one of the engagement members and is oriented to allow the engagement members to move perpendicular to the rotation axis between clamping and release positions. The mechanical linkage includes a rotating actuator and controls movement of the engagement members along the guides. The movement of each engagement member is rotationally symmetric about the rotation axis relative to the movement of the other engagement members. The device has an actuator that actuates the mechanical linkage.
TIRE HANDLER HAVING TIRE LAY FLAT CAPABILITY
A tire handler for handling a tire of a vehicle, comprising: a frame; a tire gripping assembly having a tilt assembly and an arm assembly coupled thereto; the arm assembly having first and second vertical telescoping arms and first and second horizontal telescoping arms; the arm assembly having first and second upper arms and first and second lower arms; and, a lifting assembly, the lifting assembly having first and second vertical lift actuators mounted on the frame and coupled to the tilt assembly; wherein the tire gripping assembly is operable to release and grip the tire; wherein the lifting assembly is operable to lower and raise the tire; and, wherein the tilt assembly is operable to stand upright and lay flat the tire.
TIRE HANDLER HAVING TIRE LAY FLAT CAPABILITY
A tire handler for handling a tire of a vehicle, comprising: a frame; a tire gripping assembly having a tilt assembly and an arm assembly coupled thereto; the arm assembly having first and second vertical telescoping arms and first and second horizontal telescoping arms; the arm assembly having first and second upper arms and first and second lower arms; and, a lifting assembly, the lifting assembly having first and second vertical lift actuators mounted on the frame and coupled to the tilt assembly; wherein the tire gripping assembly is operable to release and grip the tire; wherein the lifting assembly is operable to lower and raise the tire; and, wherein the tilt assembly is operable to stand upright and lay flat the tire.
Apparatus for attaching or detaching commercial vehicle tire hub drum
An apparatus enables a commercial vehicle tire hub drum to be attached and detached. The apparatus includes a main body frame having traveling wheels mounted on a lower part thereof and holding means that face forward from the main body frame for holding upright a circular load mounted on a commercial vehicle. An attachment/detachment means executes an attachment/detachment operation of the load from above the holding means. A position adjustment device coupled to the main body frame adjusts the position of the holding means and the attachment/detachment means. Accordingly, the apparatus uses a hydraulic device providing a hydraulic driving force to conveniently attach or detach a load of various sizes to a vehicle from a fixed position while simultaneously adjusting the vertical position of a load-holding means.

An apparatus enables a commercial vehicle tire hub drum to be attached and detached. The apparatus includes a main body frame having traveling wheels mounted on a lower part thereof and holding means that face forward from the main body frame for holding upright a circular load mounted on a commercial vehicle. An attachment/detachment means executes an attachment/detachment operation of the load from above the holding means. A position adjustment device coupled to the main body frame adjusts the position of the holding means and the attachment/detachment means. A driving device for use in a hub assembly includes a stationary ring, a connecting seat and a pawl unit, all of which surround an axis. The stationary ring has a plurality of angularly spaced-apart ratchet grooves that are symmetric. The connecting seat has a sprocket and at least one connecting portion, both of which are arranged along the axis. The pawl unit includes a ring-shaped coupling seat that is removably sleeved on the connecting seat and that has at least one coupling portion engaging removably the at least one connecting portion, and a plurality of angularly spaced-apart retaining grooves, each retaining a pawl and a resilient member for engaging a corresponding one of the ratchet grooves of the stationary ring.

The rollers are used to support a wheel/tire assembly, and the slidable support member may slide along the center support member. An adjustment mechanism controls the slidable support member, which can either raise or lower the height of the wheel/tire assembly by sliding the slidable member toward or away from the first roller.
