Article movement systems, ball wheels and related apparatus and methods
An article movement system includes an article and at least one ball wheel. The article has first and second article surfaces meeting at a first article edge. The ball wheel is located along the first article edge and includes a ball, a bearing arrangement and a shell. The ball engages a surface underlying the article, the bearing arrangement supports the ball for omni-directional rotational movement, and the shell is located along the first article edge and contains the ball and the bearing arrangement. The shell defines a non-circular ball opening through which a portion of the ball extends to contact the underlying surface. The article, the bearing arrangement and the shell are configured such that the ball wheel is able to support the article for omni-directional rolling motion over the underlying surface with either of the first and article surfaces parallel thereto, and at any orientation therebetween.
Stand base for microscopes
The invention relates to a stand base (10) for microscopes, which encompasses a stand base body (12) on which multiple rollers (14 to 20) for displacing the stand base (10) are fastened. The stand base (10) furthermore has a braking system (40) to prevent displacement of the stand base (10), the braking system encompassing at least two braking feet (44, 46).
CASTER ANTI-TILT DEVICE
An anti-tilt device for a caster that includes a wheel, rotatably mounted in a frame, for rotation about a rotation axis. The anti-tilt device, comprising first and second face plates; first and second flanges extending from opposing edges of said first plate, each of the first and second flanges wrapping beside the first face plate; first and second flanges extending from opposing edges of said second face plate, each of the first and second flange extending beside the first face plate, to prevent rotation of the first and second face plates when mounted to the caster frame; first and second legs extending from the first second face plates, respectively; and a bar, extending between the first and second legs across a tread face of said caster wheel when mounted to said frame, at a defined angle of the tread face, as measured from a vertical axis extending through said rotation axis, when said caster is level. Each of said first and second legs includes a defined bend to place said bar at said defined angle.
Castor wheel
The present invention relates to a castor wheel structure, comprising a wheel part (18) and a castor wheel house (28), on which a transition element can be mounted, such as a spindle structure (1) or a flange structure (2), which again can be mounted on equipment that is to be made mobile, which wheel part (18) is unilaterally suspended and arranged about a substantially horizontal shaft on the castor wheel house (28).
BRAKING ASSEMBLY FOR A CASTER BASE
A caster braking assembly that has a base section, a first caster assembly coupled to the base section and having at least one wheel, a second caster assembly coupled to the base section and having at least one wheel and a brake switch pivotally repositionable between an engaged position and a disengaged position. When the brake switch is in the engaged position at least one wheel of both the first caster assembly and the second caster assembly are substantially restricted from rotating.
Patient transport apparatus with motion dampening
A patient transport apparatus is provided for use with a retainer of a transport vehicle. The patient transport apparatus comprises a support structure comprising a patient support surface to support a patient. An engagement member is coupled to the support structure and arranged to engage the retainer when unloading the patient transport apparatus from the transport vehicle. A dampener is operable in a standby state or a resistance state such that the dampener provides increased resistance to movement of the patient transport apparatus in the resistance state as compared to the standby state. The resistance state of the dampener is activated by manually moving the patient transport apparatus in a first direction and the standby state is activated by manually moving the patient transport apparatus in a second direction, opposite the first direction.
Flip-top table for protection from projectiles
A flip-top table has a tabletop attached to a frame through a pivoting assembly. The tabletop is made from a ballistic-resistant material allowing it to be used as a ballistic shield when it rotates from its horizontal working position to a vertical shielding position. A front modesty panel is also ballistic-resistant and is mounted between the front legs of the frame. A lift speed restrictor is connected between the tabletop and the frame which prevents the user from lifting the tabletop too quickly which could topple the table, and it includes a biasing mechanism that provides a lifting force and helps to hold the tabletop in the shielding position. The table also includes visual indicators that readily indicate to persons around the table that the table can be converted into a ballistic shield. Casters allow one or more tables to be quickly moved and repositioned into a defensive arrangement.
Braking and locking system for caster wheels
A swiveling caster wheel system for use on rolling devices such as children's accessories, furniture or equipment, and including a locking system having a locking actuator that is fixed in position regardless of the swivel position of the caster wheel. The system allows a user to access and actuate the caster locking system from a consistent position of the rolling device regardless of the swivel position of the caster wheel, and allows the caster wheel to be covered without blocking access to the locking actuator.
CORNER MODULE FOR VEHICLE
The present disclosure in at least one embodiment provides a corner module for a vehicle, including a front-wheel corner module configured to drive a front wheel and including a front-wheel inwheel motor installed on the front wheel to generate a driving force and a friction braking device configured to generate a braking force on the front wheel, a rear-wheel corner module configured to drive a rear wheel and including a rear-wheel inwheel motor installed on the rear wheel to generate a driving force, a driving information detector configured to detect driving information of the vehicle, and an electronic control unit configured to control the front-wheel corner module to form a friction braking force by using the driving information and to control the rear-wheel corner module to form a regenerative braking force, wherein the front-wheel corner module uses the front-wheel inwheel motor that is provided with a lower specification than the rear-wheel inwheel motor to save the manufacturing cost, and the rear-wheel corner module has no friction braking device installed so that the rear-wheel inwheel motor is undamaged by heat.
Castor with a brake pad
A castor with a brake pad is disclosed, wherein the fixing sections and the pressing sections of the brake pad press against the two wheel-side portions of the wheel body, so in addition to providing friction, it can also provide clamping function, as a result, the braking effect can be achieved more easily, and the braking force tends to be even. Furthermore, because the fixing sections and the pressing sections of the brake pad press against the two wheel-side portions instead of pressing against the center of the wheel body, so no extra resistance is generated, and there is no excess wear, thereby extending the service life of the wheel body.
