TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY LIFTING DEVICE
The present disclosure relates generally to devices and methods which use the mechanical advantage of a lever and fulcrum along with the use of force from a user's body, foot, and leg muscles, to more ergonomically and safely install wheel assemblies on vehicles while keeping the user's back at a more ergonomic angle and allowing for both of the installer's hands to remain free for stabilizing the wheel assembly during installation. The lifting device provides a foot pedal, a lifting pad and a pivot point to position a wheel assembly on a hub and/or wheel studs.
Novel fastening
A fastening assembly having torquing members that engage notches on a conical securing member. The torquing members being operable by a wrench and able to exert torque on the securing member at the notches to tighten or loosen the securing member.
Fastener access and storage apparatus and method for a mobile robotic wheel servicing tool
A mobile robot tool has a wheel demounting sub-system mounted to a tool frame for screw disengaging fasteners from respective anchor elements integral with a hub of a vehicle from which the wheel is being demounted. Also mounted on the frame are fastener storage seats for storing respective ones of the fasteners. A transfer mechanism is operable to remotely transfer disengaged ones of the fasteners from the anchor elements to respective ones of the fastener storage seats.
Assembly tool for wheel hub
An assembly tool for assembly and replacement of bolts on a wheel hub is revealed. The tool includes a first tool set and a second tool set. The first tool set has a base and a fastener. The base is a circular body with a receiving part. A pad is disposed on the receiving part and a bearing is arranged under the pad. The fastener includes a hexagonal head, an enlarged part, a cylindrical part and an axial hole arranged with a thread. The second tool set has a first arm and a second arm pivotally connected to each other. A wheel bolt is pressed into the wheel hub by the first tool set while the wheel hub is positioned by the first and second arms of the second tool set fastened with the wheel bolts of the wheel hub for convenient assembly of the wheel bolts.
Robotic apparatus interaction with vehicle based on vehicle dimension translation
Vehicle dimension data describing dimensions of a vehicle are obtained, a robotic apparatus is moved to a position about the vehicle, a reference point of the vehicle is determined, and the robotic apparatus is caused to move to positions about the vehicle based on the reference point. The reference point is a center point of a selected wheel of the vehicle. A coordinate system of the robotic apparatus is aligned to the reference point of the selected wheel of the vehicle. Based on the aligned coordinate system of the robotic apparatus, operations are performed by the robotic apparatus to remove lug nuts from a wheel hub of the vehicle.
Tire and wheel assembly lifting device
A device for lifting a wheel and rolling the wheel on a surface includes an elongated rigid plate having a top side, a bottom side, a peripheral edge, a pedal portion at a rear end of the rigid plate, and a wheel portion at a forward end of the rigid plate. A ground roller is fixed with the bottom side of the rigid plate and at least two wheel rollers are fixed with a top side of the wheel portion. In use, with the wheel resting on the wheel rollers, the pedal portion may be pressed downwardly to pivot the rigid plate about the roller to lift the wheel. The lifting device is then rolled on the surface to place the wheel at a desired position, and rotated until obtaining a desired rotational orientation.
