Silica coated starch
A modified starch product includes a quantity of particles, each having a starch core with an intermediate polymer coating and an exterior coating of a nano-silica. A method for manufacturing a modified starch product including admixing to a silicate and water to form a nano-silica solution; admixing an original starch and a polymer to form particles with a starch core having an intermediate polymer layer; admixing the nano-silica solution and the starch particles having an intermediate polymer layer to form a suspension of the modified starch product; dewatering the suspension of the modified starch product; and drying the modified starch product to form the modified starch having particles including the starch core with the intermediate polymer coating and the exterior coating of a nano-silica. A rubber formulation includes a quantity of elastomer and a quantity of the modified starch. The particles are substantially evenly distributed throughout the elastomer.
ANTI-OZONANT COMPOSITION FOR A CROSSLINKED RUBBER ARTICLE
An anti-ozone protective composition for a crosslinked rubber article; is based on at least one chlorinated elastomer, at least one hydrocarbon solvent and at least one polar aprotic solvent. A rubber article comprises at least one elastomeric surface in contact with air, said surface being completely or partly coated with said composition.
Ultrasonic grip system
Acoustic medium of ultrasonic grip system consists of piezoelectric generator (1), wheel knuckle (9), ball bearing (10), wheel hub (11), wheel rim (15) and tyre of motor-car (20). The piezoelectric generator (1) creates ultrasound vibrations which are transferred through the acoustic medium to the surface of tyre (17). The ultrasound vibration on the surface of tyre (17) results in the separation of the surface of tyre (17) from the liquid (18) that may be found on tarmac (19) during the rain, which results in the fact that despite the unfavourable weather conditions the motor-car has an optimum rolling surface of tarmac. Also, the vibrations on the surface of tyre (17) in interaction with micro texture of tarmac increases the contact surface of tyre with tarmac, which results in the increase of coefficient of friction, higher grip of tyre and reduction of braking distance of motor-car. The ultrasonic grip system is activated at sudden braking, resp. activation of ABS system. Also, the system is activated on the occasion of activating the ESP and ASR system.
SULFUR-CROSS-LINKABLE RUBBER BLEND AND PNEUMATIC VEHICLE TIRE
The invention relates to a sulfur-crosslinkable rubber mixture and to a pneumatic vehicle tire comprising at least one rubber component made of the sulfur-vulcanized rubber mixture.
The rubber mixture contains 10-60 phr (parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the total rubbers in the mixture) of at least one functionalized polybutadiene A,
wherein the functionalized polybutadiene A is functionalized at one chain end with an organosilyl group containing amino groups and/or ammonium groups,
and wherein the functionalized polybutadiene A is functionalized at the other chain end with an amino group, up to 90 phr of at least one further diene rubber and 30-350 phr of at least one filler.
Rubber composition and pneumatic tire using the same
There is provided a rubber composition which can provide a tire having an excellent balance of the breaking properties, the rolling resistance performance (low fuel consumption) and the wet grip performance. The rubber composition includes 100 parts by mass of a diene rubber, and 1 to 100 parts by mass of fine particles (A) having a glass transition point of −70° C. to 0° C. and composed of a polymer comprising constituent units of at least one monofunctional monomer. The fine particles (A) have a crosslinked structure crosslinked by at least one polyfunctional monomer having a polysulfide bond in which at least two successive sulfur atoms are bonded together.

A rubber composition is based on an elastomeric matrix comprising from 40 to 80 phr of at least one butadiene elastomer, a vulcanization system comprising sulfur and a vulcanization accelerator, in which the weight ratio of sulfur to vulcanization accelerator is strictly less than 1, and at least 55 phr of organic filler mainly comprising a carbon black, called black G, having a BET specific surface area ranging from 15 to 50 m.sup.2/g and a compressed oil absorption number (COAN) in a range of from 40 to 100 ml/100 g.

A rubber composition for tires according to an embodiment includes a diene rubber, a filler, and a fatty acid ester of a polyoxyalkylene glyceryl ether, and 50 mass % or more of the filler is carbon black. A tire according to an embodiment includes the rubber composition for tires.

The present invention relates to a tyre for vehicle wheels comprising at least one external structural element comprising at least one external structural element comprising a crosslinked elastomeric material obtained by crosslinking a crosslinkable elastomeric composition comprising (i) at least one diene elastomeric polymer, and (ii) a system for protection against ozone substantially free of polymeric static protective agents which essentially consists of at least one phenolic antioxidant in an amount substantially equal to or higher than 3 phr.

To provide a method for producing a multicomponent copolymer with which a multicomponent copolymer having excellent rupture strength can be obtained, and a multicomponent copolymer, a rubber composition and a tire having excellent rupture strength. The method is a method for producing a multicomponent copolymer having a conjugated diene unit, a non-conjugated olefin unit and an aromatic vinyl unit, comprising adding a conjugated diene compound in divided portions into a reactor containing a catalyst and at least one selected from the group consisting of a non-conjugated olefin compound and an aromatic vinyl compound. The multicomponent copolymer is obtained with the production method. The rubber composition comprises the multicomponent copolymer as a rubber component. The tire uses the rubber composition.

A method for producing a modified conjugated diene-based polymer includes polymerizing a monomer including a conjugated diene compound in the presence of an alkali metal compound or an alkali earth metal compound to obtain a polymer having an active terminal; (a modification) reacting the polymer having an active terminal with a compound [M] having a plurality of hydrocarbyloxysilyl groups to obtain a modified polymer; and a mixing the modified polymer with at least one compound [C] selected from a compound [N] having one hydrocarbyloxysilyl group and an alcohol having 6 to 20 carbon atoms.
