Provided is a composite including: a topping rubber composition having a fatty acid content of 0.8% by mass or less; and an adherend plated with a copper-containing layer.

A rubber composition for covering a steel cord, that can improve wet heat adhesiveness while maintaining vulcanization rate is provided. The rubber composition for covering a steel cord comprises, per 100 parts by mass of a diene rubber, 1.0 to 5.0 parts by mass of an imidazole type age resister, and sulfur, wherein a sulfenamide type vulcanization accelerator is not contained, or even when contained, the amount of the sulfenamide type vulcanization accelerator is 1.5 parts by mass or less per 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber.

RUBBER COMPOSITION AND AN ARTICLE OF MANUFACTURE COMPRISING A RUBBER COMPOSITION

In a first aspect of the present invention, a rubber composition is provided, comprising at least one rubber, at least one filler, at least one thermoplastic polymer, wherein the thermoplastic polymer is a poly alkylacrylate, and wherein the alkylacrylate comprises a polycyclic substituent at its single bonded oxygen atom. In another aspect of the invention, an article of manufacture such as a tire, a power transmission belt, a hose, a track, an air sleeve, and a conveyor belt is provided which comprises the rubber composition in accordance with the first aspect.

SHEAR BAND HAVING ULTRA-LOW HYSTERESIS RUBBER

A shear band that may be used e.g., in a non-pneumatic tire is provided. The shear band uses interlaced reinforcing elements positioned within a shear layer of elastomeric material. A variety of configurations may be used to create the interlaced positioning of the reinforcing elements including e.g., a horizontal diamond or vertical diamond configuration. The shear layer formed from a rubber composition having a very low hysteresis.

The invention relates to a rubber composition based on an elastomeric matrix comprising at least 90 phr of at least one isoprene elastomer, on a reinforcing filler predominantly comprising at least one carbon black, known as CB black, exhibiting a BET specific surface at most equal to 30 m.sup.2/g and an oil absorption index of compressed sample (COAN) at least equal to 60 ml/100 g, and on a crosslinking system, the said composition not comprising, or comprising at most 10 phr of, carbon black, the BET specific surface of which is greater than 30 m.sup.2/g and the COAN of which is greater than 40 ml/100 g, and not comprising, or comprising at most 10 phr of, silica.

The invention relates to a sulfur-crosslinkable rubber mixture, in particular for rubber-coating reinforcements in elastomer products, especially in vehicle tires, or inner components of vehicle tires, as well as to a vehicle tire. The rubber mixture comprises a diene rubber, an adhesive system, 10 to 200 phr silica, and 2 to 20 phr of a silane of the formula [(R.sup.1).sub.3Si—X].sub.mS.sub.n(R.sup.2).sub.2-m, where residues R.sup.1 are identical or different alkoxy groups, cyclic dialkoxy groups, cycloalkoxy groups, phenoxy groups, aryl groups, alkyl groups, alkenyl groups, aralkyl groups, or halides, and where X is a polar organic group containing urea, m represents the value 1 or 2, n is an integer between 1 and 8, and R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom or an acyl group comprising 1 to 20 carbon atoms.

An elastomeric composition and method incorporating a hydrocarbon polymer modifier with improved permanence. The composition comprises elastomer, filler and silane-functionalized hydrocarbon polymer modifier (Si-HPM) made in a pre-reaction adapted to couple the Si-HPM to the elastomer, filler or both, wherein the Si-HPM comprises an interpolymer of monomers chosen from piperylenes, cyclic pentadienes, aromatics, limonenes, pinenes, amylenes, and combinations thereof.

PLY FOR A TIRE

A tire includes a pair of axially spaced apart annular bead cores, a carcass ply extending around both bead cores, a tread for engaging a contact surface and being disposed radially outward of the carcass ply, and a belt structure disposed radially between the carcass ply and the tread. The carcass ply includes a plurality of cords embedded in a polymer matrix. The carcass ply has a first radially upper surface and a second radially lower surface disposed opposite the first surface. The first surface defines first portions and second portions interspaced between each first portion. Each first portion has a thickness greater than each second portion thereby forming throated portions between each cord of the plurality of cords.
