Rubber Composition and Pneumatic Tire Manufactured Using Same
A rubber composition contains a diene rubber containing a styrene-butadiene copolymer component formed from at least one type of styrene-butadiene copolymers, and a reinforcing filler. The styrene-butadiene copolymer(s) satisfy: (1) a bonded styrene content is from 5 to 50 wt. %; (2) a total of styrene content of an ozone-decomposed component S1 having one styrene-derived unit and styrene content of an ozone-decomposed component S1V1 having one styrene-derived unit and one 1,2-bonded butadiene-derived unit is less than 80 wt. % of the bonded styrene content and a total of styrene content of the ozone-decomposed component S1V1 is less than 10 wt. % of the bonded styrene content; (3) an integrated intensity of an ozone-decomposed component S1V2 having one styrene-derived unit and two 1,2-bonded butadiene-derived units is 15% or greater of an integrated intensity of all ozone-decomposed products containing a styrene-derived unit; and (4) a vinyl content of butadiene moiety is 50% or greater.
Aminosilane initiators and functionalized polymers prepared therefrom
Metallated aminosilane compounds for use as functional initiators in anionic polymerizations and processes for producing an aminosilane-functionalized polymer using the metallated aminosilane compounds to initiate anionic polymerization of at least one type of anionically polymerizable monomer. Preferred use of the metallated aminosilane compounds results in rubber compositions for use in tires comprising an aminosilane functionalized polymer.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A tire has a cap rubber formed of nonconductive rubber and forms a ground surface, and a conductive portion provided in at least one side end portion of a pair of side end portions in both ends in a tire width direction. The conductive portion is formed of a conductive rubber, and reaches a side surface of the cap rubber from the ground surface through an inner portion of the cap rubber. The conductive portion is relatively small in a thickness in the ground surface and a side surface of the cap rubber, is relatively large in the maximum thickness of an intermediate portion between the ground surface and the side surface of the cap rubber, and is formed into a crescent shape which is curved into an outer side in a tire width direction and an outer side in a radial direction, in a tire meridian cross section.
ELASTOMERIC COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING VINYL ACETAL POLYMERS
An elastomeric composition is provided comprising at least one vulcanizable unsaturated hydrocarbon elastomeric compound, at least one non-fibril, water insoluble vinyl acetal polymer, at least one filler, and optionally at least one coupling agent. A process of making the elastomeric composition is also provided as well as articles comprising the elastomeric composition. In particular, tires comprising the elastomeric composition are provided wherein the handling and processing characteristics are improved while other performance characteristics are retained.
Tire cord fabric
A tire cord fabric having paired cords used as warps. The fabric is suitable for use in pneumatic tires as carcass and cap ply reinforcement, enabling the use of less rubber and higher cord content in a specified cord-rubber composite volume.
Production method for purified polysaccharide fibers, purified polysaccharide fibers, fiber-rubber complex, and tire
The present invention provides a production method for purified polysaccharide fibers in which carbon disulfide emission is suppressed while efficiently producing purified polysaccharide fibers having excellent strength, purified polysaccharide fibers produced by using the production method, a fiber-rubber complex using the purified polysaccharide fibers, and a tire having excellent tire characteristics using the fiber-rubber complex. The production method for purified polysaccharide fibers of the present invention is a production method for purified polysaccharide fibers of wet-spinning or dry-wet-spinning polysaccharide by bringing a polysaccharide solution obtained by dissolving a polysaccharide raw material in a liquid including an ionic liquid into contact with a solidification liquid including an ionic liquid, in which a concentration of the ionic liquid in the solidification liquid is 0.4% by weight to 50% by weight and the anionic moieties of the ionic liquid in the polysaccharide solution and the ionic liquid in the solidification liquid have one or more types selected from the group consisting of a phosphinate ion, a phosphate ion, and a phosphonate ion.
Tacky finish and textile materials and articles treated therewith
This invention relates to tacky finishes and to the textile materials and articles treated with the tacky finishes. The tacky finishes provide improved processing features for end-use articles that contain such finishes. The tacky finish may be combined with other adhesion promotion finishes in the treatment of textile materials. The textile materials and articles may be used as rubber reinforcing materials, such as automotive tire cap ply, single end tire cord, carcass reinforcement and side wall reinforcement. End-use articles that contain the treated textile materials include rubber-containing materials such as automobile tires, belts, and hoses. This invention also relates to the methods for manufacturing the treated textile materials and articles.
