A method and dishwasher utilize a spray basket that includes a container body that defines a compartment for retaining utensils as well as multiple sets of nozzles, a portion of which are configured to direct a spray of fluid into the compartment, and another portion of which are configured to direct a spray of fluid external from the container body. The spray of fluid directed external from the container body may be used, for example, to provide a power wash zone adjacent to the spray basket to assist in cleaning other utensils in a dishwasher.

A dishwasher may include a closure element, such as a door, a user interface on the closure element, and a controller. A data communication link having a first data connector may be coupled to the controller, and a second data connector may be coupled to the user interface. The first and second data connectors may communicatively couple when the closure element is in the closed condition to establish data communication between the controller and the user interface. The communication link may also form a power link to provide power to the user interface across an electrical link.

A free-standing Energy Recovery System enables sanitary recovery of thermal energy with heat transfer from hot waste effluent to incoming domestic water. The source of the effluent may, for example, be conventional commercial ware-washing, clothes washing equipment, pasteurization and other industrial processes.

Proposed is a home appliance that includes a reception space configured to receive objects therein; a heater configured to heat the reception space; a door configured to open/close an open surface of the reception space, the door having a viewing window provided at the door; a lamp configured to illuminate an inside of the reception space; a sensor assembly configured to output a knock-on signal based on detecting a user's knock; and a controller configured to turn on/off the lamp based on the knock-on signal output by the sensor assembly, wherein based on a present state of the home appliance corresponding to at least any one of a plurality of preset exceptional situations, the controller is configured to not turn on/off the lamp regardless of the knock-on signal being output.

The invention proposes a dishwasher, comprising a cleaning chamber for accommodating washware. The dishwasher is designed to apply at least one washing liquid and at least one final-rinse liquid to the washware in the cleaning chamber. The dishwasher has a controller which is designed to carry out at least one cleaning program. The cleaning program comprises at least one washing step, in which the washing liquid is applied to the washware, and at least one final-rinse step, in which the final-rinse liquid is applied to the washware. The dishwasher has at least one operator control element which can be operated by a user. The controller is designed in such a way that the final-rinse step can be carried out at least once on the basis of operation of the operator control element after at least the washing step of the cleaning program has been carried out.

A washing appliance has a hydraulic circuit including a tank for storing a predetermined amount of liquid, and a heating element inside the tank. The heating element heats the liquid to a predetermined temperature. A water inlet receives water from a water supply network. A descaling apparatus includes a descaler chamber having a housing portion housing a descaler product container containing a descaling agent and a mixing portion containing a mix of water and a predetermined amount of the descaling agent. The housing portion is fluidly connected to the mixing portion and an inlet pipe fluidly connecting a water inlet to the descaler chamber. The descaling apparatus also includes an outlet pipe that drains the mix of water and descaling agent from the mixing portion and provides it to the tank and a spraying element in the mixing portion that sprays water from the inlet pipe towards the housing portion.

Proposed is a home appliance that includes a cabinet defining an exterior of the home appliance, a reception space defined inside the cabinet and configured to receive objects in the reception space, a door configured to open and close an open surface of the reception space, the door having a viewing window provided at the door, a sensor assembly configured to detect each of a plurality of vibrations transmitted in three axial directions orthogonal to each other and to determine whether one or more of the plurality of vibrations is generated by a user's knock, a lamp configured to illuminate an inside of the reception space, and a controller configured to turn on/off the lamp based on a knock-on signal output by the sensor assembly.
