Cord and Pneumatic Vehicle Tire
A cord (1) for use in an elastomer product, preferably in a pneumatic tire, comprising a reinforcement system (2) which is made of an electrically nonconductive material and which is sheathed by an electrically conductive layer (5).
Located on the electrically conductive layer (5), covering same, there is a further, electrically insulating layer (6).
VEHICLE TIRE
A vehicle tire includes tread blocks with a substantially-horizontal upper/top surface, a first pair of downward-sloping surfaces, a pair of horizontal shoulder surfaces, and a second pair of downward-sloping surfaces. The first pair of downward-sloping surfaces begins and slopes downward and outward from the upper/top surface. Each of the horizontal shoulder surfaces begins and extends outward from one of said first pair of downward-sloping surfaces. The second pair of downward-sloping surfaces begins and slopes downward and outward from the horizontal shoulder surfaces.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
The present invention provides a pneumatic tire having excellent durability. Provided is a pneumatic tire including at least one steel belt layer, at least one cap ply layer, and at least one carcass layer, the steel belt layer including a steel belt topping rubber composition which has a zinc oxide content of 8.0 parts by mass or more per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component, the cap ply layer including a cap ply topping rubber composition, the carcass layer including a carcass topping rubber composition, the cap ply topping rubber composition and the carcass topping rubber composition both having stearic acid and zinc oxide contents, each per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component, which satisfy the following relationships (1) and (2):
stearic acid content3.0 parts by mass,(1):
stearic acid content/zinc oxide content0.5.(2):
Pneumatic Tire and Method for Manufacturing Same
Provided are a pneumatic tire with improved air dispersibility in a reinforcing layer including steel cords during vulcanization and with effectively suppressed blistering, and a method of manufacturing the same. In the pneumatic tire according to the present technology including a reinforcing layer (10) including a plurality of aligned steel cords (11) coated with coating rubber (12), at least one thread (13) for extending in a longitudinal direction of the steel cords (11) is disposed between the steel cords (11) in the coating rubber (12).
Hybrid cord and high-performance radial tire including the same
A hybrid cord for a tire, a method of manufacturing the same, and a high-performance environment-friendly radial tire including the same are disclosed herein. The hybrid cord includes a high-modulus fiber ply and a low-modulus fiber ply. The hybrid cord has a stress-strain curve including an initial modulus section, an intermediate modulus section and a final modulus section. The initial modulus of the initial modulus section is higher than the intermediate modulus of the intermediate modulus section, and the final modulus of the final modulus section is higher than the intermediate modulus.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
In a tire 2, a band 14 has a helically wound structure in which a strip 26 having a cord 28 is wound in a circumferential direction. The band 14 includes a center portion C disposed at a center in an axial direction, and a shoulder portion S disposed outward of the center portion C in the axial direction. A pitch Pc of the strip 26 in the center portion C is not less than 2.0 times a width W of the strip 26 and not greater than 2.5 times the width W. A pitch Ps of the strip 26 in the shoulder portion S is not less than 0.8 times the width W of the strip 26 and not greater than 1.2 times the width W.
ATMOSPHERIC PLASMA TREATMENT OF REINFORCEMENT CORDS AND USE IN RUBBER ARTICLES
The present invention is directed to a method of making a cord-reinforced rubber article, comprising the steps of A) mixing a carrier gas, sulfur and an alkyne, to form a gas mixture; B) generating an atmospheric pressure plasma from the gas mixture; C) exposing a steel reinforcement cord to the atmospheric pressure plasma to produce a treated reinforcement cord; and D) contacting the treated steel reinforcement cord with a rubber composition comprising a diene based elastomer.
Reinforced bias- or radial-carcass tire
The invention relates to a tire having at least one carcass reinforcement comprising reinforcers, surmounted radially on the outside by a crown reinforcement, itself radially on the inside of a tread, said crown reinforcement being made up of at least one layer of reinforcement elements, said tread being connected to two beads by way of two sidewalls, said beads being intended to come into contact with a rim flange having a rim flange top C, each bead having at least one circumferential reinforcement element, said carcass reinforcement comprising an end at each bead, the end of the carcass reinforcement being turned up once in an outward radial direction of the tire and about said bead wire, so as to form a turnup, then being folded in said radially inward direction so as to form a fold forming a radially external end and three adjacent parts along an axial axis made up of a central part, of an axially internal lateral part, and of an axially external lateral part. The tire is characterized in that the radially external end of the turnup is disposed between the rim flange top C and a point D, said points C and D being situated at the surface of the sidewall and disposed on either side of a point E situated on the sidewall corresponding to the nominal section width, said point D being disposed at a maximum radial length equal to 85% of the length present between the axial end S of the crown reinforcement and the rim flange top C.
ATMOSPHERIC PLASMA TREATMENT OF REINFORCEMENT CORDS AND USE IN RUBBER ARTICLES
The present invention is directed to a method of making a cord-reinforced rubber article, comprising the steps of A) mixing a carrier gas, a sulfur-containing compound and an alkyne, to form a gas mixture; B) generating an atmospheric pressure plasma from the gas mixture; C) exposing a reinforcement cord to the atmospheric pressure plasma to produce a treated reinforcement cord; and D) contacting the treated reinforcement cord with a rubber composition comprising a diene based elastomer.
