PNEUMATIC VEHICLE TIRE HAVING A REINFORCING LAYER WITH STEEL MONOFILAMENTS
A pneumatic vehicle tire having a strength member ply comprising steel monofilaments having a cross-sectional area of 98 mm.sup.2 to 125 mm.sup.2 per meter of strength member ply, the steel has a carbon content of at least 0.86% by weight. To improve rolling resistance the monofilaments have a brass coating having a copper content of 61% by weight to 70% by weight and a zinc content of 30% by weight to 39% by weight, in that the monofilaments have a linear density of 92 g/100 m to 105 g/100 m, and the monofilaments each have a tensile density Td of 34 MPa/(g/100 m) to 39 MPa/(g/100 m). The strength member ply has an areal strength AS of 109 Nmm.sup.2 to 166 Nmm.sup.2, and the rubber material has a breaking elongation of 300% to 450%.
Low-noise tire
The tire (10) for a passenger vehicle has an axially central portion and axially lateral portions. The axially central portion and each axially lateral portion satisfies just one of conditions I, II, III: Ithe portion comprises no transverse cut (90, 90), IIthe portion comprises N transverse cuts (90, 90) arranged in such a way that OD/N40 mm, IIIthe portion comprises N transverse cuts (90, 90) arranged in such a way that OD/N24 mm, condition I or II being satisfied by the axially central portion or by an axially lateral portion, and condition III being satisfied by the axially central portion or by an axially lateral portion.
Tyre for vehicle wheels
A tyre for vehicle wheels comprises a support structure and a tread band arranged in a radially outer position with respect to the support structure. The support structure comprises at least one reinforcing layer including a plurality of hybrid reinforcing cords (10) each having a metallic wire (21) twisted together with a multifilament textile yarn (22) comprising a plurality of filaments (23). In any cross section of each of said hybrid reinforcing cords (10), the metallic wire (21) is at least partially embedded in the filaments (23) of the multifilament textile yarn (22).

Tire comprising reinforcing elements in the form of laminated strips
The tire comprises a carcass ply connecting two beads via two sidewalls, the carcass ply being surmounted radially towards the outside of the tire by a crown reinforcing zone which is itself surmounted radially towards the outside of the tire by a tread, the crown reinforcing zone comprising a plurality of reinforcing strips arranged over at least one ply of strips. The strips are arranged so that they are juxtaposed and at an angle less than or equal to 15 with respect to the circumferential direction. Each reinforcing strip is made up of a laminate of at least 3 composite layers, each composite layer containing oriented fibers having a tensile modulus greater than or equal to 55 GPa, which are parallel to one another and coated in a polymer matrix.
