TRUCK TIRE

A pneumatic tire for use on trucks, the tire comprising: a tread which includes a belt reinforcement structure of only three belts, the belt structure including a pair of working belts, wherein the angle of the working belts range from about 10 degrees to about 50 degrees, wherein a zigzag or low angle belt is positioned preferably between the working belts or radially inward of the working belts. The belt structure further includes a rubber strip located between the radially innermost belt and the tire carcass, and preferably has a gauge that varies across the axial width of the tire.

NON-PNEUMATIC TIRE WITH IMPROVED SHEAR BAND

A shear band and a non-pneumatic tire is described which includes a ground contacting annular tread portion; a shear band, and a connecting web positioned between a hub and the shear band. The shear band is preferably comprised of a three-dimensional spacer fabric having a first and second layer connected by connecting members. The three-dimensional spacer fabric has a defined depth. The first and second layer of fabric of the three-dimensional spacer structure are reinforced with a respective first and second layer of non-crimped fabric, eliminating the need for a rubber shear layer and reinforcement layers commonly used for the shear band.

Devices with internal flexibility sipes, such as slits, provide improved flexibility, improved cushioning to absorb shock and/or shear forces, and improved stability of support. Siped devices can be used in any existing product that provides or utilizes cushioning and stability. These products include human and other footwear, both soles and uppers, as well as orthotics; athletic, occupational and medical equipment and apparel; padding or cushioning, such as for equipment or tool handles, as well as furniture; balls; tires; and any other structural or support elements in a mechanical, architectural, or any other product.

Tire

A tire includes an annular tire structural member in which a resin-covered cord, configured by covering a reinforcing cord with a resin including a protrusion formed on a side face, is wound in a spiral shape with the resin at one portion of the resin-covered cord integrally bonded to the resin at another mutually adjacent portion of the resin-covered cord.

Non-pneumatic tire having block type reinforcement

A non-pneumatic tire having a block type reinforcement configuration includes: a tread unit that forms an outer portion of the tire and comes in contact with a road surface; a wheel unit that is connected to an axle; a spoke unit that is formed between the tread unit and the wheel unit; and a block type reinforcement unit that includes a block formed inside the tread unit in the circumferential direction of the tread unit, and a plurality of reinforcing members formed in the block to correspond to the shape of the block.

Epoxy-functionalized novolak resin composition

A composition of epoxide-functionalized resins comprises at least a first epoxide-functionalized novolac resin, a second epoxide-functionalized novolac resin, and a curing agent selected from phenolic or amine-type curing agents, the average molar mass of the group consisting of the entirety of the epoxidized novolac resins in the said composition being between 550 and 650 g/mol, the average epoxide functionality of the said group being between 3 and 3.5 eq epoxide/mol, and the said composition having a glass transition temperature Tg of at least 160° C.
