Tire with laminate and method of making same

A method of laminating a vulcanized tire includes providing a vulcanized tire having a circumferential tread and a pair of sidewalls constructed of a base rubber. The method further includes cleaning the circumferential tread, providing a laminate, and forming a plurality of holes in the laminate. The method also includes applying the laminate to at least a portion of one of the circumferential tread and a sidewall of the vulcanized tire. The method further includes applying pressure to the laminate, thereby evacuating air between the laminate and the circumferential tread of the vulcanized tire and curing the laminate.

The shoulder rubber layers are arranged radially outside the cover portion to form shoulder ground contacting surfaces. The base rubber layer is made of a first rubber composition having larger hardness than the shoulder rubber layers, and the shoulder rubber layers are made of a second rubber composition containing larger amount of oil component than the base rubber layer.

PNEUMATIC TIRE

A pneumatic tire 1 comprises a carcass 6 extending between bead cores of bead portions via a tread portion 2 and sidewall portions, and a belt layer 7 arranged on an outer side in a tire radial direction of the carcass 6 and inside of the tread portion 2. The pneumatic tire 1 further comprises a damping rubber body 30 arranged between the carcass 6 and the belt layer 7, and a noise damper 20 arranged on an inner cavity surface of the tread portion 2. A width W1 in a tire axial direction of the damping rubber body 30 is in a range of from 60% to 130% of a width W2 in the tire axial direction of the belt layer 7, and a water absorption rate of the noise damper 20 is in a range of from 10% to 25%.

Tire having a predetermined direction of mounting on a vehicle. The tire tread (40) comprises a central rib (411-413) and two side ribs (421, 422), separated by circumferential grooves (141-144). The side ribs are made from a first rubber composition less than 50% filled with black. The central rib comprises a portion (4111, 4121) made from a second rubber composition more than 50% filled with black, the axial width (LP) of said portion being greater than or equal to 20% of the axial width LC of the central rib. The first rubber composition has a tan 0 value which is greater than the tan 0 value of the second rubber composition, where tan 0 denotes the tan value measured at a temperature of 0 C. and under a stress of 0.7 mPa.
