HIGH CONTRAST PATTERNS FOR SIDEWALL OR TREAD

A tire having a high contrast design pattern is described, wherein one design has a first set of spaced apart wavy lines oriented in a first direction, and a second set of spaced apart wavy lines oriented in a first direction, wherein the first set of wavy lines is out of phase with the second set of wavy lines. A second high contrast design pattern is described, and is formed of a plurality of circles, wherein the plurality of circles do not overlap with each other and are tangent to each other.

In a pneumatic tire according to an embodiment, a spiral-shaped pattern is formed in a pattern forming area provided on a surface of a sidewall. The spiral-shaped pattern is formed by alternately providing ridges protruding from a reference surface in the pattern forming area and grooves recessed from the reference surface along a spiral while gradually changing the height and the depth with respect to the reference surface.

Pneumatic tire

A pneumatic tire comprises a sidewall portion of which outer surface is provided with a decorative portion extending in the tire circumferential direction in an arc shape. The decorative portion is formed from a first pattern area and a second pattern area having different surface aspects. When the decorative portion is divided into a number N of decorative zones (N>2) by equally-spaced parallel straight lines which are perpendicular to a reference center line extending in a tire radial direction, percentages of occupied area of the first pattern area in the respective decorative zones are gradually increased from the radially innermost decorative zone to the radially outermost decorative zone.

A tire (1) having at least one sidewall (3), intended to interact with a sidewall insert (9) by way of an anchor (6), and aims to personalize the design of the tire sidewall. The anchor has a recess (7) formed in an axially outer sidewall layer (30), with a protuberance (8), which is raised in relation to the recess bottom (71) and extends from the recess bottom (71) to the vicinity of the axially outer sidewall face (31) and the protuberance (8) has, in any meridian plane (YZ), a minimum width Lpmin in the vicinity of the recess bottom (71) so as to ensure the anchoring of the sidewall insert (9) intended to interact with the anchor (6).

Tire

A tire includes a visible outer surface being provided with a decorative region at least partially, the decorative region having 2 to 10 micro-protrusions per 1 mm.sup.2. The micro-protrusions protrude in a tapered manner toward outwardly of the tire. The micro-protrusions include first protrusions having a first taper angle and a second protrusions having a second taper angle greater than the first taper angle.

System for Identification of Tires and Ongoing Communication Concerning Safety Issues Therewith

A system for tire identification is provided which continuously compares tires mounted on vehicles with tires known to have safety issues. Where a match is discerned for a vehicle mounted tire and a tire having safety issues, warnings are issued to one or all of the vehicle owner, the vehicle dealer, or the vehicle service center.

Pneumatic tire

A surface of each of the portions of a pneumatic tire includes a ridge pattern region provided with a plurality of ridges continuously extending in one direction and provided at intervals, a non-ridge pattern region including a smooth surface and not provided with the ridges, and a two-dimensional code including a dot pattern formed from two types of gray scale elements distinguishably formed using surface irregularities. The two-dimensional code is engraved entirely overlapping the ridge pattern region or engraved overlapping the ridge pattern region and the non-ridge pattern region.

Pneumatic tire and method of manufacturing pneumatic tire

A pneumatic tire is provided with a carcass layer and a sidewall rubber disposed on an outer side in a tire width direction of the carcass layer. Additionally, the pneumatic tire is provided with a resin coating applied on a predetermined region of a sidewall portion. Additionally, a minimum value of a wall thickness t of a rubber of the sidewall portion in the region applied with the resin coating is in a range of 0.05 mm≤t≤4.0 mm. Additionally, a thickness of the resin coating is in a range of 20 μm or more and 300 μm or less.
