METHOD FOR DEPOSITING A COLORED LAYER ON A TIRE
A method for depositing at least one colored layer on the surface of a vulcanized tire sidewall includes applying by inkjet a colored layer to the whole of the sidewall or to at least a part of the sidewall of the tire and then, after drying, selectively removing the colored layer in such a manner as to create a first pattern. A tire obtained on completion of that method is also disclosed.
COLORED DIRECT LASER MARKING ON TIRE
A motor vehicle tire includes a sidewall having an inner layer of a first color and an outer layer adjacent the inner layer. The outer layer is of a second color different from the first color. The outer layer has a plurality of throughholes that visually expose the inner layer. The throughholes are in a pattern that encodes information about a history of the motor vehicle tire and/or a unique identifier
Tire
Provided is a tire provided with a mark capable of reducing the air resistance during tire rotation while maintaining good visibility. A tire is provided with a mark on a tire side portion. The mark includes a first mark located on an outer side in a tire radial direction, and a second mark located inward of the first mark in the tire radial direction. Each of the first mark and the second mark includes a recess that is recessed from a side profile surface of the tire side portion. A depth of the recess of the first mark from the side profile surface is smaller than a depth of the recess of the second mark from the side profile surface.
Tire
At least one mark in the form of a character or a figure and a surface geometry arrangement region can be disposed on a surface of a sidewall portion. The surface geometry arrangement region can include a first region formed adjacent to the mark outside the mark. The first region can have a plurality of first micro projections disposed therein. The first region can extend radially from a vanishing point on the surface of the sidewall portion toward the mark so as to allow the mark to be stereoscopically viewed.
TYRE FOR VEHICLE WHEELS
The present invention relates to a tyre for vehicle wheels comprising at least one external structural element comprising at least one external structural element comprising a crosslinked elastomeric material obtained by crosslinking a crosslinkable clastomeric composition comprising (i) at least one diene elastomeric polymer, and (ii) a system for protection against ozone substantially free of polymeric static protective agents which essentially consists of at least one phenolic antioxidant in an amount substantially equal to or higher than 3 phr.
Structural color developing member and tire
A structural color developing member includes: a base material including a surface, at least a portion of which is provided with a fine ridged/grooved structure formed at a constant arrangement pitch, the base material developing a structural color by the fine ridged/grooved structure; and a color developing layer layered on a surface of the fine ridged/grooved structure. The color development from the color developing layer is a hue included in color development of the structural color, and a region of the structural color developing member in which the fine ridged/grooved structure and the color developing layer are provided is visually recognizable in a single hue. Instead of the color developing layer, a polarized reflection layer may be provided.
System and method for acquisition of tire sidewall data from a moving vehicle
A drive-through vehicle inspection system acquiring information from engraved markings on the tire sidewalls of a moving vehicle. Optical imaging sensors disposed on opposite sides of the vehicle acquire images of the sidewall surfaces for each passing wheel assembly. The acquired images are evaluated by a processing system configured to identify, within the acquired images, visible markings engraved into the tire sidewall surfaces which include at first portion having a first optical reflectivity, and a second portion having a second optical reflectivity which is different from the first optical reflectivity. Each identified marking is decoded to retrieve data stored therein, representative of the tire, wheel assembly, and/or associated vehicle onto which the wheel assembly is installed. The retrieved data is incorporated into an inspection report and/or utilized by the vehicle inspection system to access vehicle-specific information contained within an indexed database.
A LABEL FOR A TYRE OF VEHICLE WHEELS, A PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING SAID LABEL AND A PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING A TYRE INCLUDING SAID LABEL
Abstract: A label (1; 50) for a tyre (100) of vehicle wheels comprises: at least a first layer (4) which is made of an elastomer material which is compatible with the elastomer material of a sidewall (102) of the tyre, an external surface (2) which is intended to remain visible when the label is coupled to the sidewall, a plurality of recesses (10) which are formed at the external surface (2) and which are capable of generally defining at least one portion of information which is set out on the label (1; 50). The elastomer material of which the first layer (4) is made comprises a quantity of a halogenated isobutylene polymer greater than 5 phr.
Tyre
A mark indicating portion arranged on a sidewall portion is provided with a reference surface provided on a surface of the sidewall portion and one or more marks formed on the reference surface. A surface of the or each mark is provided with a ridge line extending obliquely with respect to a tyre radial direction, a first surface portion positioned on an outer side in the tyre radial direction of the ridge line, and a second surface portion positioned on an inner side in the tyre radial direction of the ridge line. Each of the first surface portion and the second surface portion is inclined in a direction in which a height thereof from the reference surface is decreased as it goes away from the ridge line.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire has a sidewall that extends in a tire radial direction. The the sidewall has an insignia which protrudes toward an exterior in a tire axial direction. The insignia has a strip-like body, an endless-loop-like outline which encompasses the body, and a bridge which is arranged toward an exterior from the endless loop of the outline and which causes a mutually separated pair of the outlines to be mutually connected. Heights by which the body and the outline protrude relative to a reference surface which is an exterior surface in a region peripheral to the insignia are mutually different. A height by which the bridge protrudes relative to the reference surface is less than each of the protruding heights of the body and the outline.
