Appliance and method for determining an operational state of a component
An appliance and method for determining an operational state of the appliance is provided. The appliance includes a cabinet, a flow device, and a sensor positioned at the cabinet. The cabinet includes a plurality of panels forming an interior volume at which a wash chamber is positioned. The flow device is configured to flow a fluid at the wash chamber. The sensor is positioned at the cabinet and configured to obtain sound vibrations from the wash chamber. The method includes obtaining, from the sensor, a signal during flow of a fluid at the wash chamber, and comparing the signal to a predetermined operational profile corresponding to operation of the flow device at the wash chamber to determine whether the flow device is operating properly.
DISHWASHER APPLIANCE AND WINTERIZATION OPERATION FOR A DISHWASHER APPLIANCE
A dishwasher appliance connected to a water supply circuit includes a tub defining a wash chamber; a pump in fluid communication with the wash chamber; a user interface comprising at least one input; and a controller operably coupled with the user interface and the pump, the controller being configured to perform a winterization operation. The winterization operation includes determining that a municipal water source has been disconnected from the water supply circuit; supplying a volume of water to the wash chamber after determining that the municipal water source has been disconnected; determining that the volume of water within the wash chamber is greater than a predetermined minimum volume of water; circulating, via the pump, the volume of water within the wash chamber for a predetermined length of time; and draining the volume of water from the wash chamber after circulating the volume of water for the predetermined length of time.
Dishwashing appliances and fluid-loss mitigation
A wash or dishwashing appliance may include a cabinet, a tub, a door, a fluid pump, a controller, a low-power input sensor, and a conditioning circuit. The controller may be configured to alternate between an active operational mode and a standby mode. The low-power input sensor may be configured to detect a fluid-loss event at the dishwashing appliance at the standby mode of the controller and transmit a fluid-loss signal in response to detecting the fluid-loss event. The conditioning circuit may be attached to the cabinet in electrical communication with the low-power input sensor and separate from the controller. The conditioning circuit may be configured to receive the fluid-loss signal apart from the controller at the standby mode and initiate a mitigation action in response to receiving the fluid-loss signal.
Dishwasher, method for operating a dishwasher, and computer program product
A dishwasher includes a dishwasher interior for washing items to be washed with washing liquor. Arranged at a lower end of the dishwasher interior is a pump sump for collecting the washing liquor, and a sensor is arranged in the pump sump for outputting a sensor signal as a function of a presence of washing liquor at the sensor. A control apparatus configured to carry out a washing program selected from a number of washing programs is designed to determine a malfunction of a component of a hydraulic assembly as a function of the sensor signal and of a current operating state of the dishwasher.
Dishwasher sump and dishwasher apparatus
A dishwashing apparatus may include a sump. The sump may include a sump pan configured to couple with a wash chamber of the dishwashing apparatus. The sump may include a sump well coupled to the sump pan and configured to collect the liquid from the sump pan. The sump well may include a well inlet in communication with the sump pan. The sump pan may convey the liquid to the well inlet. A recirculation port extending through a first wall of the sump well. A drain port may extend through a second wall of the sump well. The second wall defines a bottom of the sump well. The dishwashing apparatus may include a controller. The controller may monitor electrical characteristics of a pump. The controller may provide a notification if fluid is not flowing through the pump.
