In such a pneumatic tire (1), the two or more fastener components (3a, 3b) of the mechanical fastener (3) are fixed with a resin reinforcement member (7) sandwiched therebetween, the resin reinforcement member (7) including at least one layer of a resin film or resin sheet including any of: (a) a resin or a resin composition made of a blend of resin and an elastomer; (b) a resin or a resin composition made of a blend of a resin and an elastomer including arranged fibers; and (c) a resin or a resin composition made of a blend of a resin and an elastomer with short fibers compounded therein.

PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY APPLYING A NOISE REDUCING ELEMENT TO A TYRE FOR VEHICLE WHEELS

A process and an apparatus for automatically applying a noise reducing element to a tyre for vehicle wheels. The process includes: a) providing a noise reducing element; b) providing an adhesive material; c) guiding the noise reducing element according to a predetermined direction; d) during the guiding, applying the adhesive material onto a first surface of the noise reducing element; e) manipulating the noise reducing element by interacting with at least one second surface of the noise reducing element different from the first surface on which the adhesive material has been applied; and f) positioning the noise reducing element in a predetermined position on a radially inner surface of the tyre, bringing the first surface into contact with the radially inner surface.

In a pneumatic tire, first and second sound absorbing members are adhered to an inner surface of a tread, have a total volume ranging from 10% to 40% of a capacity of a tire cavity, and are separated from each other by 60% of the width of a center land. The first sound absorbing member is on one side in a lateral direction with respect to a position of 40% of a width of the center land from one end of the center land on one side in the lateral direction to the other side in the lateral direction. The second sound absorbing member is on the other side in the lateral direction with respect to a position of 40% of the width of the center land from the other end of the center land in the lateral direction to the one side in the lateral direction.

Provided is a pneumatic tire, a mounting direction of which is specified with respect to a vehicle, which includes: a tread portion extending in a tire circumferential direction and having an annular shape; a pair of sidewall portions disposed on both sides of the tread portion; and a pair of bead portions disposed inward of the sidewall portions in a tire radial direction; wherein a sound absorbing member is fixed via an adhesive layer to an inner surface of the tread portion along the tire circumferential direction, and a center position in a width direction of the sound absorbing member is disposed on a vehicle outer side.

Noise-reducing device for a tire

Tread having a tread surface intended to come into contact with a road surface and comprising at least one groove of width W and of depth P delimited by two walls facing one another, these walls being joined together by a groove bottom, at least one groove comprising at least one closure device for at least partially closing this groove as it passes through the contact patch, each closure device comprising at least one flexible blade of suitable thickness that allows it to flex under the effect of a circulation of liquid, this at least one flexible blade projecting from the bottom of the groove, each flexible blade being delimited by a contact wall intended to come into contact with the road surface and by end walls each facing a wall delimiting the groove and lateral walls, this tread further comprising at least one passage between the bottom of the groove and each blade of the device, this passage being intended to ensure a minimal flow of water when driving on a water-covered road surface.

A pneumatic tire includes, on a tread surface, circumferential main grooves extending in the tread circumferential direction, rib-like land portions defined between circumferential main grooves adjacent in the tread width direction or by circumferential main grooves and tread edges, and resonators, arrayed circumferentially in the rib-like land portions, each including a narrowed neck and an air chamber. The narrowed neck is a widthwise sipe opening at one end to the circumferential main groove that defines the rib-like land portion, extending therefrom in the tread width direction, and terminating at another end within the rib-like land portion. The air chamber is a circumferential sipe connected to the other end of the widthwise sipe, extending in the tread circumferential direction, terminating at both ends within the rib-like land portion, and including a first widened portion, at the sipe bottom, with a larger sipe width than at the tread surface side.

Methods for treating inner liner surface, inner liners resulting therefrom and tires containing such inner liners

Methods for treating the surface of a cured inner liner are disclosed. By use of these methods a treated, cured inner liner is produced which has a lower surface with increased adherability to other materials (e.g., adhesives). Treated, cured inner liners resulting from such methods as well as tires containing the treated inner liners.

Tire comprising sealant layer and acoustic absorbent layer

The present disclosure relates to a tire comprising a sealant layer and an acoustic absorbent layer, and the tire comprises an acoustic absorbent layer positioned inside the tire, a sealant layer positioned between the inner surface of the tire and the acoustic absorbent layer, and applied to the inner surface of the tire, and a film layer positioned between the acoustic absorbent layer and the sealant layer.

The tire may enable a sealant layer applied to the inner surface of the tire to perform a self-sealing process in case of puncture, may have the noise reduction performance by comprising an acoustic absorbent, and not only may prevent micro-fragments of the acoustic absorbent from deteriorating the function of the sealant, but also may maintain the noise reduction performance even when a nail reaches the acoustic absorbent by penetrating the tire and a sealant.
