The present disclosure is directed to methods and systems for optimizing the performance of bicycle-type wheels and wheel components. One example includes the manufacture, arrangement, and assembly of rims, tires, tubes and/or other components in a manner that results in an optimal smooth rotation with little or close to no oscillation and/or yaw by controlling, marking, and aligning the heavy spots inherently created during the production of such components. Other aspects of the present disclosure are directed to methods and systems for monitoring and alerting a user to imbalance of a wheel system, a rotational weight shifting wheel, and a valve-less tire.

PNEUMATIC VEHICLE TIRE WITH IMPROVED IMBALANCE

The invention relates to a pneumatic vehicle tire of a radial construction having a gas-tight inner layer, wherein on the side of the gas-tight inner layer that in the vulcanized and mounted pneumatic vehicle tire is directed towards the wheel rim there is at least one patch containing one or more liquid rubbers and one or more solid rubbers.

FILM TO KEEP TIRE SURFACE CLEAN AND SIMULTANEOUSLY PRIME FOR BETTER ADHESION OF BALANCE PAD

The subject invention relates to a method of preparing a tire inner surface to attain better adhesion of balance pads, puncture sealants, and noise reduction foams. In this method a strip of multi-axially stretchable film is adhered to the inner surface of an uncured tire with a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Then a release agent coating is applied to the film strip on the inner surface of the uncured tire which is subsequently cured in a suitable mold at an elevated temperature. The cured tire is then removed from the mold and after allowing the cured tire to cool the annular circumferential film strip is removed from the inner surface of the tire to provide a circumferential release coating-free tire inner surface onto which balance pads, puncture sealants, and noise reduction foams can be adhered.

Tyre balancing compositions
09671305 · 2017-06-06 · ·

The invention relates to tire balancing compositions having improved balancing properties comprise a visco-plastic gel and solid bodies having an average smallest dimension in the range of 0.5-5 mm; preferably 1-4 mm, more preferably around 3 mm. When applied in a layer to the inside of a motor vehicle tire, the compositions act by allowing the solid bodies move through the gel and to concentrate in areas to counteract imbalances. The solid bodies preferably have an average ratio between their smallest and their largest dimension of 2, more preferably 1.5, especially around 1. The visco-plastic gel preferably has a storage modulus (G) between 1000 Pa and 25000 Pa at 22 C., a loss modulus (G) smaller than the storage modulus, and a critical yield stress above 3 Pa at 22 C. The bodies may be shaped as prolate or oblate ellipsoids, cylinders, rectangular paralleipipeds, or spheres, or mixtures of such bodies; they may have an apparent specific gravity in the range of 500-3000 kg/m.sup.3, preferably 600-2000 kg/m.sup.3, in particular 700-1000 kg/m.sup.3, especially 800-900 kg/m.sup.3; they may be made from polyolefins, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polyamide, rubber or glass. The weight ratio between the solid bodies and the gel is from 10:1 to 1:10, preferably from 5:1 to 1:5, in particular from 2:1 to 3:1, such as from 1:1 to 1:2. The invention further concerns a tire balancing kit and a method for balancing automobile wheel assemblies.
