METHOD FOR ESTIMATING THE PRESSURE OF THE TYRES OF A VEHICLE
A method estimates tire pressure of vehicle. For each tire, signals or data indicative of angular velocity of the wheel with which the tire is associated are acquired. A subset of detected signals or data acquired in rectilinear vehicle travel condition is selected. Pressure relationship between tires of each pair of wheels of the same axle is determined by comparing the rolling radius of the wheel on which a first tire is mounted and the rolling radius of the wheel on which a second tire is mounted. A pressure relationship between tire pairs is determined for comparison between the mean value of the rolling radii of wheels of a first axle and the mean value of the rolling radii of wheels of a second axle. Ratios are calculated based on signals or data indicative of angular velocity of the wheels and on slippage of the drive wheels.
Pulse width measurement method and apparatus
A tire monitoring apparatus comprising a monitor installed on a tire and a pulse width measuring apparatus for measuring the width of pulses produced by the monitor. The pulse width measuring apparatus comprises a frequency analyzer for producing a frequency representation of the pulse, a signal processor for determining a minimum value of the frequency representation, and a pulse width estimator that inverts the minimum value to produce a measurement for the pulse width. The tire monitoring apparatus uses the pulse width measurement as an indication of characteristics of the tire.
TIRE PROPOSAL SYSTEM
A tire proposal system that proposes a tire of a vehicle to a user includes a processing unit that proposes an appropriate tire that is a tire appropriate for the vehicle based on a mileage and a driving time of each trip of the vehicle. With such processing, the appropriate tire is proposed to the user considering a traveling pattern (usage tendency) of the vehicle, which can be grasped from the mileage and the driving time of the each trip of the vehicle, thereby a tire appropriate for the traveling pattern of the vehicle can be proposed to the user as the appropriate tire.
Circumferential orientation of piezoelectric device in tire to improve signal quality
An apparatus and method for monitoring parameters of a tire using a piezoelectric device is provided. The piezoelectric device is mounted as part of a tire mountable apparatus with a circumferential orientation in a tire such that that the direction defined by length of the piezoelectric device is generally aligned with the direction of rotation of the tire. This can lead to increased coupling of the piezoelectric device to changing circumferential tire shape as the piezoelectric device enters and exits the contact patch of the tire while at the same time reducing the coupling of the piezoelectric device to changing lateral tire shape. Contact patch entry and exit times from piezoelectric signals generated by the piezoelectric device can be more readily identified, leading to increased accuracy of tire parameters determined from the contact patch entry and exit times, such as tire revolution count, tire speed, and contact patch angle.
Estimation of absolute wheel roll radii and estimation of vertical compression value
Methods, apparatuses and computer program products for estimating absolute wheel roll radii and/or a vertical compression value of wheels of a vehicle are disclosed, wherein yaw rates of the vehicle, wheel speeds of first and second wheels, and optionally lateral acceleration of the vehicle are measured and used as a basis for the estimation.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING ABNORMAL INFORMATION ASSOCIATED WITH A VEHICLE
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for determining abnormal information associated with a vehicle. The systems may perform the methods to obtain real-time information associated with a bicycle and obtain reference information associated with the bicycle. The systems may also perform the methods to determine, based on the real-time information and the reference information, abnormal information associated with the bicycle, and transmit the abnormal information associated with the bicycle.
Steering control method and system for vehicle
A steering control method and system for a vehicle may determine whether the snow chain has been mounted by comparing the number of times of vibrations of a certain peak or more detected by respective wheel speed sensors with respect to a current vehicle speed with a predetermined value, and selectively controls the operations of an AFS and a RWS according to the position of the wheel on which the snow chain has been mounted, when it is determined that the snow chain has been mounted.
Tire sensing method for enhanced safety and controllability of vehicles
A method for tire sensing includes providing a tire comprising (a) a tire body having an outer wall for contact with a surface and opposite side walls, and an inside surface and (b) at least one flexible strain gauge positioned along the inside surface of the tire body, wherein the at least one flexible strain gauge is positioned to sense tire deflections or strain. The method further includes sensing tire data indicate of the tire deflections using the at least one flexible strain gauge and communicating the tire data to a data acquisition system, control system, or computer system. The flexible strain gauge(s) may be soft dielectric capacitive sensors, soft resistive sensors, or soft capacitive/resistive sensors.
METHOD FOR MONITORING TIRE CONDITION
A method for monitoring a tire condition includes the following steps: sense a rotational speed of a tire of a moving vehicle; when the sensed rotational speed reaches a predetermined rotational speed range, obtain a condition of the rotating tire through at least one sensor to generate a piece of first condition data; compare the first condition data with a plurality of pieces of pavement feature data to obtain the corresponding one; process with the obtained piece of pavement feature data and the first condition data to filter a pavement feature out of the first condition data, generating a piece of second condition data; determine whether the condition of the tire is abnormal based on the second condition data; and send out a warning message when the condition of the tire is determined as abnormal Whereby, the road security is improved.
