The apparatus further includes a slot therethrough adapted to support a key rotatable between a first position contained within the slot and a second position extending perpendicularly from the slot. A method of applying tire chains comprises comprising engaging a link of a tire chain within the c-shaped opening and drawing the link of the tire chain into engagement with a binder located at a distal end of the tire chain. The method further comprises locating the binder within the c-shaped opening, rotating the binder into a closed position with the elongate member, rotating a key out of the slot, engaging the key within a lock in the tire chain and locking the tire chain with the key.

An improved ramp for facilitating the application of snow chains to the outer tire of a dual tire configuration of a semi truck, or other dual wheeled vehicle. The ramp has a front apron that is close to and parallel to the ground. The front apron allows for the tire to drive on to the apron without pushing the ramp out from under the tire. The tire then travels up an incline section to a top, supporting surface. The bottom of the ramp has a series of adjustable friction enhancing projections that increase friction between the bottom of the ramp and the ground. The friction enhancing projections are adjustable in length, allowing for a user to make the projections longer beneath the supporting surface, further facilitating driving the tire onto the ramp.

The trailer includes a floor configured to carry cargo and a protective enclosure moveable between a stowed position and a deployed position. The protective enclosure has a frame and a top panel, a first side panel, a second side panel, and an end panel that are attachable to the frame. In the stowed position, the protective enclosure is positioned adjacent the floor. In the deployed position, the protective enclosure projects away from the floor and the top panel, the first side panel, the second side panel, and the end panel cooperate to form an interior space shielded from inclement weather.
