Valve assembly and tire inflation system including said valve assembly
A valve assembly for use in a tire inflation system, the valve assembly including: a valve body including a first fluid port and a second fluid port; a piston disposed at least partially within the valve body and configured to be moved relative to the valve body between an open position and a closed position. When the piston is in the open position, the first fluid port is fluidly connected with the second fluid port. When the piston is in the closed position, the first fluid port is fluidly isolated from the second fluid port. When the piston is in the open position, the first fluid port and the second fluid port are fluidly connected with one another via a fluid channel extending through the piston. A tire inflation system including the valve assembly.
Outlet screw assembly for an air maintenance tire
An air maintenance tire assembly includes an air pumping passageway located within a tire sidewall to generate compressed air. An outlet screw assembly includes an elongate screw body residing within a profiled sidewall bore. The screw body extends through an axial span of the first sidewall to the tire cavity to conduct air from the sidewall air passageway to the tire cavity. The screw body has enlarged sectional end components to deter radial dislodging of the screw body from the sidewall bore during operation.
Inlet air passage screw assembly for an air maintenance tire
An air maintenance tire assembly having an elongate air pumping sidewall air passageway includes an inlet air passage screw assembly inserted through a tire sidewall profiled bore to conduct air from outside the tire into a regulator positioned within a tire cavity. The screw assembly includes a screw body having at an outer end a large-diameter filter housing, a smaller-diameter midsection shank portion, and an inner large-diameter valve housing connecting to the regulator within the tire cavity. A valve mechanism seats within the valve housing and moves between an open position conducting air from the screw body into the regulator assembly and a closed position preventing a backflow of air from the regulator assembly.
Self-regulating tire valve
A self-regulating tire valve for use in pneumatic tires. The self-regulating tire valve includes a tubular housing with a primary channel extending therethrough, a threaded collar on one end of the tubular housing adapted to connect to a source of pressurized air, a cavity positioned adjacent to the primary channel, and a release passageway connecting to a release outlet positioned on the exterior of the tubular housing. A diverting block is positioned with a secondary channel extending therethrough that is moveably positioned within the cavity. When the secondary channel of the diverting block is aligned with the release passageway, air can flow from a second end to a first end of the secondary channel, through the release passageway and exit at the release outlet.
Wheel Valve Assembly With Vent To Atmosphere And The Tire Inflation System Made Therewith
A tire inflation system wheel valve assembly is provided. The wheel valve assembly may include a body portion coupled with a cover portion. A diaphragm may be disposed between the body portion and the cover portion. The diaphragm and the body portion define a control cavity; and the diaphragm and the cover portion define a cover cavity. At least one control port is in fluid communication with the control cavity. In addition, a tire port is in selective fluid communication with the control cavity. Further, the cover portion defines an aperture in fluid communication with the atmosphere and the cover cavity.
VALVE WITH A NUMBER OF DUCTS FOR PASSING AND INCREASED SEALING
The invention relates to a valve for a compartmentalized tube or tyre, including a number of ducts for passing and increased sealing. It therefore has one end for coupling to an inflation/deflation system; another end in contact with the rim; a flow channel between both, with opening by means of a cover solidly joined to a mobile rod. The valve has at least two cavities with connection means to the airtight compartments of the tube or tyre. One cavity is displaced solidly joined to the rod, allowing gas or liquid flow through the communication channel between the cavities when in the open position. The existence of friction surfaces are thereby eliminated, increasing the sealing, the maximum operating pressure and the useful life. Additionally, the number of items in contact with one another are reduced, allowing for a simpler manufacturing process by reducing the level of accuracy required for the components.
TIRE VALVE AND VALVE PIN THEREOF
The present invention relates to a tire valve and a valve pin thereof. The valve pin includes a body portion, a head portion and a valve seal. The body portion includes a tubular wall, the tubular wall includes a first end and a second end, the tubular wall defines an axial hole and including at least one radial hole in communication with the axial hole, and the axial hole has an opening at the first end of the tubular wall. The head portion is fixedly and integrally connected axially to the second end of the tubular wall, and includes a groove on an outer surface thereof. The valve seal is received within the groove and protrudes radially outward beyond the groove, and is configured for sealingly contacting an inner surface of the tire valve.
Rapid-deflate valve stem and associated systems and methods
A valve stem for controlling inflation and deflation is provided. The valve stem includes a valve body having a central passage and a lateral port venting to the atmosphere. A valve core can be positioned within the central passage and configured to permit gas flow into the central passage. A collar is configured to surround an intermediate portion of the valve body, with the collar movable between a first position, where the collar occludes the lateral port to prohibit gas flow out of the lateral port, and a second position, where the collar opens the lateral port to permit gas flow from the central passage through the lateral port. A pressure set assembly can couple to the valve body and be set to a pressure at which the pressure set assembly closes to prohibit gas flow through the pressure set assembly and through the lateral port.
Valve cap and core tool
A valve cap and core tool has an elongate shaft terminated by a valve core head at one end and a valve cap head at a second end. The valve cap head has an elastomeric sleeve that is sufficiently elastic to slightly stretch about and securely engage a valve cap. The valve core head has an elastomeric sleeve, and coaxial with and interior of the sleeve is a rigid tube that terminates distal to the shaft at a bifurcated end. The rigid tube bifurcated end is designed to drop around and engage with a valve core, and with continued rotation unthread the valve core. Within the core of the rigid tube, and preferably securely engaged therewith, is an elastomeric tube. The elastomeric tube is of appropriate diameter and sufficiently elastic to securely grab and retain the valve core.
VALVE FOR TUBELESS TIRES
The invention is directed to a valve stem system (1) for tubeless wheels. The valve stem system (1) includes a valve stem body (2) with a first end (3) and a second end (4), wherein the second end (4) is located in a tire/rim-volume when mounted at the wheel. A first valve element (5) is arranged at the second end (4) of the valve stem body (2). The first valve element (5) is a self-sealing one-way valve. The invention further concerns a probe (30) for a valve stem system, a method to test the amount of sealant in a wheel and a refilling assembly (80) for a wheel.
