Method of monitoring the pressure of an aircraft tire
A method of monitoring the pressure of a tire of an aircraft, the method including: taking two or more pressure readings from the tire at different times; calculating an estimated deflation rate based on the pressure readings; and calculating a time for the tire to deflate to a reference pressure level based on the estimated deflation rate. Two or more temperature readings are each associated with one of the pressure readings, and the estimated deflation rate is calculated by normalising each pressure reading based on its associated temperature reading and a common reference temperature to obtain a temperature-normalised pressure reading, and calculating the estimated deflation rate based on the temperature-normalised pressure readings. The estimated deflation rate is compared with a threshold, and a warning provided if the estimated deflation rate exceeds the threshold.
INDICATING ERRORS IN A TIRE MONITORING SYSTEM
A tire monitoring device and method in which an error can be detected and indicated. The tire monitoring device includes an indicator and a wireless communication interface. The method of operating the tire monitoring device includes: receiving an instruction to measure a tire pressure via the wireless communication interface; measuring a tire pressure; determining an error status of the tire pressure monitoring device; and responsive to a determination that the error status is not indicative of an error, activating the indicator to provide an indication based on the tire pressure.
DETERMINING A STATUS OF A TYRE MONITORING DEVICE
A method of determining a status of a tyre monitoring device is disclosed. The tyre monitoring device includes a counter initiated on a first use of the tyre monitoring device on a wheel and the method includes: determining a current value of the counter; determining a status of the tyre monitoring device based on the current value of the counter; and providing an indication based on the determined status. In some examples, the status is a remaining service lifetime and the indication may be a replacement notification. A method of cross-checking data between tyre monitoring devices is also disclosed. The method includes receiving data from a plurality of tyre monitoring devices associated with respective tyres of a same vehicle; comparing the received data from different ones of the plurality of tyre monitoring devices; determining inconsistent data associated with at least one of the plurality of tyre monitoring devices based on the comparison; and providing an indication of the inconsistent data.
DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING THE PRESSURE OF A TIRE OF AN AIRCRAFT WHEEL
The invention relates to a device for controlling the pressure of a tire of an aircraft wheel provided with a rim, remarkable in that it comprises: a shell defining an open-ended housing; a system for controlling the pressure of a tire; an annular band having a tensile strength of between 400 and 1500N;
the pressure control system being received in the housing of the shell, and the annular band is positioned on a bearing face of the shell opposite the open-ended housing and against transverse retaining means, the device is able to be positioned around the rim to press the shell against the rim and close off the open-ended housing.
CONFIGURATION MODE ENTRY FOR A TIRE MONITORING DEVICE
Restricting commands for a tire monitoring device including controlling entry into a configuration mode and restricting operation based on detection of an abnormal command pattern. The method includes, at a tire monitoring device: receiving a configuration request from a first device for the tire monitoring device to operate in a configuration mode, the configuration request provided using a first wireless communication protocol; responsive to receipt of the configuration request, initiating communication using a second wireless communication protocol; establishing successful communication using the second wireless protocol; and entering the configuration mode responsive to establishing successful communication using the second wireless communication protocol. In another example, a method restricts operation of a lire monitoring device including receiving instructions via a wireless communication interface; detecting an abnormal instruction pattern based on the received instructions; and restricting the operation of the tire monitoring device responsive to detecting the abnormal instruction pattern.
AIRCRAFT PNEUMATIC TIRE
A first belt cord made of organic fibers of a spirally wound belt layer extends at an angle of equal to or less than 5° relative to a tire equatorial plane, a second belt cord made of organic fibers of a zigzag belt layer extends at an inclination of an angle of 2° to 45° relative to the tire equatorial plane, to folding back points where the second belt cord is folded back at each width directional end edge of the zigzag belt layer, and a relation of N.sub.95>N.sub.50 is satisfied. N.sub.50 is the number of stacked belt layers of the spirally wound belt layers, at 50% of half the length of a maximum belt width of belt layers from the tire equatorial plane. N.sub.95 is the number of stacked belt layers of the spirally wound belt layers, at 95% of half the length of the maximum belt.
TIRE WITH CUT PROTECTOR BELT STRUCTURE
A tire, preferably an aircraft tire has a cut protector belt formed of a monofilament reinforcement cord. The cut protector belt is preferably formed by helically winding a monofilament cord, wherein the monofilament cord is formed of nylon, and wherein the cross-sectional shape is not round, and is preferably obround or has a flat surface
Tread for an aircraft tire
Airplane tire tread (2), having an axial width L, comprises a middle part (3) having an axial width L.sub.C at least equal to 50% and at most equal to 80% of L and composed of a middle rubber composition, and two lateral parts (41, 42), positioned axially on either side of the middle part (3), each having an axial width (L.sub.S1, L.sub.S2) between 10% and 25% of L and each composed of a lateral rubber composition. The middle rubber composition comprises at least 50 phr of a first diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler and a crosslinking system, which first diene elastomer comprises ethylene units and diene units comprising a carbon-carbon double bond, which units are distributed randomly within the first diene elastomer, the ethylene units representing at least 50 mol % of all the monomer units of the first diene elastomer.
