METHOD FOR ACTUATING A TIRE-PRESSURE REGULATING SYSTEM OF AN AGRICULTURAL VEHICLE COMBINATION
A method for actuating a tire-pressure regulating system of an agricultural vehicle combination includes monitoring a current operating status of an implement by a control unit and receiving data by the control unit indicative of a change in the current operating status of the implement. The method also includes communicating a command by the control unit to a tire-pressure regulating system of the change in the current operating status and controllably adjusting a tire inflation pressure in one or more tires of a tractor or the implement by the tire-pressure regulating system based on the data received by the control unit.
INTERNALLY COOLED TIRE-WHEEL SYSTEM
A pneumatic tire may include a tread, an inner tire surface positioned opposite the tread, and an internal heat exchanger attached to the inner tire surface. The wheel assembly may include a wheel rim, the pneumatic tire, and a pump. The pneumatic tire may be attached to the wheel rim. The pump may be attached to the wheel rim outside of the pneumatic tire and configured to rotate with the wheel rim. The pump may be coupled to the internal heat exchanger through an opening in the wheel rim. The wheel assembly may further include a coolant disposed in the internal heat exchanger and configured to absorb heat from the pneumatic tire. The wheel assembly may also include an external heat exchanger configured to remove heat from the coolant.
Two piece rim and tire connected assembly
A two-piece rim and tire assembly. The tire is held to the rim by fasteners extending through flanges integral with the tire main body and then into the rim. Further, the outer edges of the rim clinchably mount the tire main body thereto. A flexible overhanging portion extends outwardly of the tire main body minimizing dirt and mud accumulation on the tire and rim. A bearing is held within the rim by a ring.
CROWN REINFORCEMENT FOR A TIRE OF A TRACTOR-TYPE AGRICULTURAL VEHICLE
A tire (1) for an agricultural vehicle comprises a working reinforcement (2), radially on the inside of a tread (3) and radially on the outside of a carcass reinforcement (4), the working reinforcement (2) comprising a multilayer component made up of a radial stack of at least two working layers (21, 22), and aims to improve the endurance thereof. The working reinforcement (2) is made up of a circumferential spiral winding of at least one turn of the multilayer component, the first and second circumferential ends (211, 221; 212, 222) of each working layer (21, 22) are circumferentially offset from one another, and the respective first circumferential ends (211, 221) of two consecutive working layers (21, 22) are likewise circumferentially offset from one another.
AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FOR RAPID TIRE INFLATION
A tire inflation system is provided for a vehicle supported by a plurality of inflatable tires. The system includes a compressor carried on the vehicle, and an air storage tank carried on the vehicle and connected to the compressor for storing compressed air. A plurality of automatically operable fill valves are provided, each fill valve being associated with a respective one of the tires so that each tire is communicated with the air storage tank via a separate one of the fill valves to increase inflation pressure in the tire when its respective fill valve is in an open position. A controller is operably associated with all of the fill valves. The controller has a multiple tire rapid inflation mode in which the fill valves associated with at least two of the tires are maintained in their open positions for an initial period until pressure in the air storage tank and the at least two tires substantially equalizes, and for a subsequent period during which the compressor provides additional inflation air to the at least two tires.
RAPID TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM WITH AIR COMPRESSOR
An onboard inflation system for a vehicle such as an agricultural vehicle is disclosed, including a tire mounted on a wheel to form a wheel and tire assembly. The tire includes a tread portion and a tire cavity including an inflation chamber adjacent the tread portion of the tire. A storage chamber is carried by at least one of the wheel and the tire. A compressor arrangement is communicated with both the storage chamber and the inflation chamber. The compressor arrangement is configured to transfer air between the storage chamber and the inflation chamber.
Air Storage System For Rapid Tire Inflation
A tire inflation system is provided for a vehicle supported by a plurality of inflatable tires. The system includes a compressor, a main air storage tank and an auxiliary air storage tank. An automated shut off valve is disposed between the main air storage tank and the auxiliary air storage tank. An inflation sensor is arranged to detect an inflation pressure provided to the tires. A controller has a rapid inflation mode configured to initially communicate stored compressed air from both the main air storage tank and the auxiliary air storage tank to the tire or tires being inflated, and to then close the automated shut off valve so that additional compressed air from the compressor is communicated to the tire or tires being inflated without repressurizing the auxiliary air storage tank.
Location Based Automatic Tire Pressure Control
A method for adapting a tire inflation pressure of an agricultural vehicle includes ascertaining a current vehicle position by a navigation system, correlating the current vehicle position by a control unit with a cartographically captured field boundary, detecting a travel-induced entry into a cultivation region surrounded by a field boundary, and selecting a set tire inflation pressure designated for field cultivation from a database by the control unit. The method further includes applying the selected set tire inflation pressure to at least one tire of the agricultural vehicle by a tire-pressure regulating system.
PRESS WHEEL AND TIRE FOR SUCH WHEEL
A press wheel comprises a rigid body and a semi-tubular tire. The tire comprises a flexible envelope with a sole portion through which the tire is mounted on the rigid body, a tread portion and a pair of sidewalls each one connecting the sole to the tread. The sidewalls extend, at least partially, along a generally concave profile, viewed from the exterior of the tire.
