Multiple Layer Foam Insert for Tires
20170297375 · 2017-10-19 ·

A multiple layer foam insert replacement for a pneumatic inner tube for a tire. The multiple layer foam insert emulates the effect of air pressure, across a range of pressures, while still approaching the weight of the air filled tube. Through the use of different density materials and the orientation and thickness of such materials, the desirable characteristics of the pneumatic tube structure and performance can be emulated to a high degree. This multiple layer foam insert can be produced in varying levels of quality and function through the method of extrusion of foam materials in different sizes and layering.

Tire pressure monitoring system

A tire pressure monitor includes a printed circuit board (PCB) and a sealed pressure chamber mounted to the PCB. The tire pressure monitor also includes a piston mounted adjacent to the sealed pressure chamber. The piston is configured to contact the sealed pressure chamber in response to an applied pressure. The tire pressure monitor also includes a liquid within the sealed pressure chamber. Translation of the piston causes the liquid to apply pressure to a pressure sensor. The pressure sensor is mounted within the sealed pressure chamber, and is configured to detect the applied pressure.

CONNECTION STABILIZING MECHANISM BETWEEN SOLID TIRE AND BICYCLE RIM
20170282649 · 2017-10-05 ·

A connection stabilizing mechanism between a solid tire and a bicycle rim. The connection stabilizing mechanism includes multiple fastening members connecting a solid tire with a bicycle rim. Each of the fastening members has a plate-shaped base section engaged with the bicycle rim and an extension section inserted into the solid tire. A free end of the extension section is inserted into the solid tire. A ratio of an extension length of the extension sect ion to a tire height of the solid tire is between 1:1.5 and 1:2.6, thereby maintaining a relative position of the center of a main body of the solid tire relative to the rim. Thus, the solid tire is prevented from being detached from the rim due to excessive lateral movement of the central position of the main body of the solid tire.

SEGMENTED INNER TUBE
20170246907 · 2017-08-31 · ·

An inner tube comprising a unitary tube segmented into a plurality of chambers, the plurality of chambers interconnected therebetween. A plurality of interconnections may be respectively configured between the plurality of chambers wherein the plurality of interconnections may be operable to control airflow between adjacent ones of the plurality of chambers. A valve coupled to the unitary tube, the valve operable to allow introduction of air into the plurality of chambers through the plurality of interconnections.

Tyre

Tyre, in particular cycle tyre, with a device for generating rotation-dependent signals, a method for producing said tyre and a system for controlling a cycle drive with such a tyre. Tyre, in particular cycle tyre, with a device for generating rotation-dependent signals, in which the device is arranged in the tyre (1, 3) or is connected to the tyre and has a signal-generating element (6, 14), which is held in a retaining element connected positively or non-positively to the tyre body, wherein the receiving element is arranged substantially on the outside of strengthening elements or reinforcing elements of the tyre and the signal-generating element is held in the retaining element in such a way that the signal-generating element forms part of the outer surface of the tyre or protrudes beyond the outer surface of the tyre.

COMPETITION WHEELCHAIR TIRE

A tire includes a sipe, on a surface of a tread of a tire, extending across a tire equator from one side to another side of the tire equator. An end of the sipe on at least the one side is located at a tread edge or near the tread edge, and an inclination angle of the sipe relative to a width direction of the tread decreases from the tire equator towards the tread edge.

COMPETITION WHEELCHAIR TIRE

In regions, divided by the tire equator, on both sides of the tread surface of a tire, the tire includes a grip area along the entire circumference of the tread, the grip area including a plurality of recessed lines, with a shape recessed toward an inner side of the tire from the outline of the tread surface, that extend from the tread edge side in a direction inclined relative to the tire equator and are arrayed in parallel, and a plurality of sipes that extend toward the tire equator in a direction inclined relative to the tire equator, starting in the grip area and terminating before the tire equator. The negative ratio in the grip area is higher than the negative ratio closer to the tire equator than the grip area.

Inflation system for tubeless tires

An inflation system for tubeless bicycle tires may include a valve, a sealant canister, a pump head, and/or a valve core adapter. The valve, sealant canister, and pump head may collectively facilitate sealant injection into a tire by a user. The valve has an external valve seat, and includes a valve body, a valve stem extending through the length of the valve body, and a retaining mechanism for the valve stem disposed interior to the valve body. The valve stem is configured to move relative to the valve body, such that a resilient seating surface disposed at a proximal end of the valve stem is displaced relative to a valve seat formed by an exterior surface of a proximal end of the valve body.

SELF-REINFLATING TIRE

A device for transport of air in the tire P or close to it consisting of a chamber K in the shape of a hollow compressible channel, placed along at least a part of the tire perimeter, characterized by the fact that a ring OK is placed at the inner side of the chamber K with the distance of its outer side from the tire axis of rotation equal to 1 to 1.1 multiple of the distance of the bottom side of the chamber K from the axis of rotation of the tire P.

PNEUMATIC TIRE FOR BICYCLE

The invention relates to a two-wheeled vehicle pneumatic tire (1), preferably bicycle tire, particularly preferably racing bike tire (1), having a tread (2), a tire carcass, tire side walls (3) and two bead regions (4), each with a tire bead with a core (5), wherein the tire carcass comprises two carcass inlays (6,6′) wherein the two carcass inlays (6, 6′) extend from a zenith region (17) of the two-wheeled vehicle pneumatic tire (1) over the tire side walls (3) as far as the two bead regions (4) and are looped there around the respective core (5) from axially on the inside axially outward and end with carcass inlay ends (7,7′) and wherein the two bead regions (4) each have a bead protective strip (8) arranged on the carcass from the outside as protection against chafing.

The problem addressed is that of improving the rolling resistance.

The problem is solved in that the carcass inlay ends (7′) of the inner carcass inlay (6′) are covered from the outside by the respective bead protective strip (8), wherein the inner carcass inlay (6′) is formed by that carcass inlay of the two carcass inlays (6, 6′) which is the radially inner carcass inlay in the zenith region (17). The invention furthermore relates to a two-wheeled vehicle having a tire of said type.
