A kingpin assembly includes a pin that has a shaft with a spherical member extending therefrom. The kingpin includes a base that has a spherical interior surface which defines an interior area. The interior area includes an open end of the base and is bounded by a closed end of the base. The closed end of the base is opposite the open end. The spherical member is rotatingly disposed in the interior area with the shaft extending away from the open end. The closed end has a torque receiving configuration for receiving a torque applying tool thereon.

Axial ball joint and length-adjustable two-point link with such an axial ball joint

An axial ball joint for a length-adjustable two-point link having a housing and a ball stud supported in the housing by a joint ball to be rotatably and swivelably movable and which extends in an axial direction out of the housing in undeflected state. The housing has a connection pin integrally connected to the housing that extends perpendicular to axial direction. A length-adjustable two-point link has two angle joints connected to one another via a connection element, particularly a connection pipe. One angle joint is formed as an axial ball joint connected to the connection element to be adjustable in length. The other angle joint is formed as a radial ball joint and is rigidly connected to the connection element.

Rear suspension assembly for an off-road vehicle

A vehicle has a frame, seats, two front and two rear suspension assemblies, two front and two rear wheels, and a motor. Each rear suspension assembly has a trailing arm, a knuckle pivotally connected to the trailing arm, a lower link having laterally outward and inward ends pivotally connected to the trailing arm at a first connection point and to the frame at a second connection point respectively, an upper link having laterally outward and inward ends pivotally connected to the trailing arm at a third connection point and to the frame at a fourth connection point respectively, and a toe link having laterally outward an inward ends pivotally connected to the knuckle at a fifth connection point and to the frame at a sixth connection point respectively. The fifth connection point is laterally further from a longitudinally and vertically extending center plane than the first and third connection points.

Stabilizer and assembling method therefor

This ball joint is provided with: a ball stud, one end being fastened to a suspension device/stabilizer, and the other end having a ball part; a housing that rotatably supports the ball part of the ball stud; and a ball seat provided so as to be interposed between the housing and the ball part, the ball seat having an inner spherical part for accommodating the ball part. The ball seat is provided to the housing by insert injection molding. The inside diameter dimension of the inner spherical part formed by separate injection molding is set to a dimension corresponding to the anticipated amount of molding shrinkage of the resin during the insert injection molding.

Suspension operation system and suspension operation terminal
10829155 · 2020-11-10 · ·

A suspension operation system includes: a suspension that includes a plurality of links supporting a wheel, at least one or more of the links having an actuator increasing or decreasing its length in an axial direction; a control device that supplies a drive signal to the actuator to control operation of the suspension; and a suspension operation terminal that operates the suspension. The suspension operation terminal includes: a detector that detects operation input information to the suspension operation terminal; and a communicator that transmits information about a target posture of the wheel, the information being based on the operation input information, to the control device as an operation command. The control device includes: a first calculator that calculates the length of the actuator on the basis of the operation command; and a drive circuit that produces the drive signal on the basis of information from the first calculator.

MIRROR SYSTEM FOR A HEAD-UP DISPLAY

A head-up display for a vehicle may include a mirror system. The mirror system may include a mirror. The mirror may be rotatable about a first axis. For rotation about the first axis, the mirror system may include a first joint assembly spaced from a second joint assembly. The first joint assembly may include a bearing-ball joint aligned along a second axis. Additionally, the first joint assembly may include a mirror-ball joint aligned along the first axis. The mirror-ball joint may restrict movement of the bearing-ball joint to ensure that the first axis remains coaxial with the second axis.

Hybrid suspension arm

A hybrid lower arm and a hybrid upper arm include an arm body made of a metal material, and an insert injection-molded integrally with the arm body so that the insert is inserted into an inside of the arm body. The arm body has a weight ratio of 50% or more and 90% or less with respect to the total weight of the hybrid lower arm or the hybrid upper arm, thus achieving the rigidity increase as well as the weight reduction in the lower arm and the upper arm of a suspension system.
