MECHANICAL JOINT WITH FIVE DEGREES OF FREEDOM
Aspects of the disclosure relate to a mechanical joint with five degrees of freedom. In certain embodiments, the mechanical joint includes first and second triangular linkages The first triangular linkage includes a base end configured to hingedly couple to a first body to pivot relative to the first body and a vertex end that includes a first rotational member. The second triangular linkage includes a base end configured to hingedly couple to a second body to pivot relative to the second body and a vertex end that includes a second rotational member. The first rotational member and the second rotational member are rotationally coupled to form a all joint. With this joint, the second body is moveable in two translational degrees of freedom and restricted in one translational degree of freedom relative to the first body. Such a configuration allows vertical movement and/or reduces stress on the joint.
Self-Stabilizing Vehicle And Control Method Thereof
A self-stabilizing vehicle includes a mass gyroscope which is fixed at an occupant compartment chassis corresponding to a portion where occupants sit. The occupant compartment portion may tilt outwards in response to the centrifugal force. If the vehicle has three or more wheels, the load is evenly distributed on the left wheel and the right wheel which move oppositely up and down about an effectively centrally-mounted shaft pin. Further, the present disclosure proposes a method for operating the self-stabilizing vehicle. According to the self-stabilizing vehicle and the operating method thereof, a vehicle having a narrow body may be used. When the vehicle undergoes external forces such as the centrifugal force and the crosswind, the occupant compartment can maintain the vertical stability even though the wheels may slide sideways.
Vehicle suspension system
A fluid suspension system for a land vehicle is provided with an actuator connected to a chassis and an axle of a land vehicle spaced apart from a pivotal connection of the axle. A fluid pressure circuit is in cooperation with the at least one actuator. A controller is in operable communication with the fluid pressure circuit and is programmed to receive input indicative of a travel speed of the land vehicle. The fluid pressure circuit is adjusted to limit fluid flow rate or reduce fluid pressure at a low speed travel range to permit the axle to pivot in response to variations in an underlying support surface. The fluid pressure circuit is adjusted at a higher speed travel range for selective actuation of the at least one actuator or for a higher fluid pressure actuation of the at least one actuator, in response to variations in the underlying surface.

A suspension circuit is in cooperation with the at least one actuator. A controller is in operable communication with the suspension circuit and is programmed to receive input indicative of a travel speed of the land vehicle. The suspension circuit is closed at a low speed travel range to permit the axle to pivot in response to variations in an underlying support surface. The suspension circuit is opened to permit selective actuation of the at least one actuator at a higher speed travel range in response to variations in the underlying support surface.
Wheel lean automation system and method for self-propelled work vehicles
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for automatically controlling wheel lean in a work vehicle (e.g., a motor grader) comprising a front portion with an axle and a plurality of traction wheels configured to lean at a wheel-lean angle relative thereto. Based on output signals from one or more sensors mounted on the work vehicle, work conditions are detected comprising an actual wheel-lean angle of at least one wheel relative to the axle, an oscillation angle of the axle, and a slope of the terrain. In automatic control operations, wheel lean is automatically directed to a predetermined orientation (e.g., corresponding to a direction of gravity), based at least on detected work conditions. Wheel lean may further be automatically directed based on detected steering inputs for positioning of the traction wheels and a detected articulation angle for positioning of the front portion of the work vehicle relative to the rear portion.
WORK VEHICLE AXLE DEVICE
Work vehicle axle device includes a wheel drive case utilizing a centrally disposed vertically extending first coupling portion, a centrally disposed vertically extending second coupling portion spaced from the first coupling portion and an input shaft located below an upper end of either the first or second coupling portions and being configured to transmit rotational power to wheels. The first and second coupling portions are configured to pivotally mount to the wheel drive case to a vehicle body of the work vehicle in a manner that allows the wheel drive case to pivot about an axis that, when viewed from above, is at least one of parallel to a front to back direction of the vehicle body and parallel to a centrally disposed front to back axis of the vehicle body.
Adjustable ride height, vehicle, system and kit
Disclosed herein is an adjustable suspension mount system that includes a first mount link pivotally attached to a mount feature and extending to a device used to support a load on a first wheel, the first mount link pivotally attached to the device. The mount feature is attached to or integrated into the frame of the vehicle. The system further includes a second mount link pivotally attached to at least one of the mount feature and a second mount feature, the second mount link extending to the first mount link, the second mount link pivotally attached to the first mount link. Further disclosed is a vehicle including the system, and a kit including the components to provide the system for a vehicle.

DROP DECK TRAILER
The application discloses a Drop Deck Trailer having a pivoting axle system that allows the deck of the trailer to be incrementally lowered to the ground. When coupled to a tow vehicle, the partially lowered deck becomes a ramp to load and unload a vehicle. The unloaded trailer can be backed into a standard garage, uncoupled, and lowered completely to the ground. The UTV or light vehicle can then be front-loaded on the trailer. This capability allows the convenience and cost savings of simultaneously storing a UTV or other light vehicle in the same standard garage space. A unique articulated tongue assembly allows the operator to minimize the footprint of the parked trailer, allowing smaller spaces to be used for storage or simply eliminate a trip hazard. The Drop Deck Trailer is a combination of innovative features that provides convenience and cost savings.
