A system for positioning a trailer body with the trailer support surface at ground level. The system comprises one or more suspension systems for controlling the position of wheels on either side of the trailer body and a rotary tongue system that allows the trailer tongue to rotate relative to the trailer body.

A truck or trailer includes a wheel, a stub axle spindle extending through the wheel and having a through bore, a step-up drive ratio unit inboard of said stub-axle spindle, an axle shaft extending through the through bore of the stub-axle spindle, and a power conversion unit operatively connected to the step-up drive ratio unit. The axle shaft is operatively connected to the step-up drive ratio unit, such that, as the axle shaft rotates with the wheel, mechanical energy from rotation of the axle shaft is converted into electrical energy. A special suspension system allows for installation of the stub axle spindle, and such suspension systems are a separate focus herein as well as being usable in combination with the power conversion elements.

A trailer includes a trailer frame having a hitch. A stationary support base is joined to the trailer frame. Two supports are slidably guided on the support base toward and away from each other. A wheel assembly is mounted to an end of each of the supports remote from the other support such that a distance between the wheel assemblies varies with movement of the supports on the support base. A locking device selectively locks each support to the support base in a first position where the wheel assemblies are furthest from each other and a second position where the wheel assemblies are closer to each other.

The disclosure may include replacement and/or new installation of a no-flat airbag to be used in an air suspension system, thus reducing waste and costs associated with suspension system repair. Utilizing the system and process disclosed herein, a broken and/or punctured airbag of an existing airbag suspension system is repaired and utilized in operation. Furthermore, the system provides for utilizing new airbags in the same.
Carrier platform with suspension mechanism for supporting a vibration-sensitive load on a vehicle
A carrier platform with a suspension mechanism and suspension methods for supporting a vibration-sensitive load including humans and sensitive objects or cargo in a vehicle such as a terrestrial vehicle, a marine vehicle or aircraft. The suspension mechanism deploys a set of linkage elements for accommodating linear motion of the carrier platform in a vertical linear degree of freedom (Z-axis) and in two horizontal linear degrees of freedom (X- and Y-axes). The suspension mechanism uses springs attached to the carrier platform for biasing it along the vertical linear degree of freedom. The suspension mechanism also has an active damping device with a set of motors to dampen vibrations experienced by the carrier platform in at least one translational degree of freedom.
TRAILER LEVELLING SYSTEM
A method includes calculating, at a data processing hardware, a relative angle between a tow vehicle and a trailer attached to the tow vehicle. An absolute angle of the tow vehicle is determined at the data processing hardware. An absolute angle of the trailer based on the relative angle and the absolute angle of the tow vehicle is calculated at the data processing hardware. A dimension of the trailer is determined at the data processing hardware. A trailer levelling adjustment based on the absolute angle of the trailer and the dimension of the trailer is calculated at the data processing hardware.

An apparatus includes a housing; a spherical bearing disposed within the housing; a shaft disposed in part beneath the housing and penetrating a portion of the spherical bearing; a bellow circumscribing a lower portion of the housing and providing an interface between the spherical bearing and the shaft; and a cover adjacent a lower end of the bellow and having a circumferential groove configured to enable rotational movement of the bellow, the cover extending to and circumferentially surrounding a portion of the shaft to seal the shaft.
AXLE WEIGHT SENSING DEVICE
A vehicle weight sensing system particularly useful for trailers. An axle tube is mounted to the vehicle or trailer through its suspension members that may be leaf springs. A mounting block is affixed to the axle tube for mounting a strain gauge. The mounting block is fixed to the axle tube between the suspension members connected to the axle tube. The mounting block has a mounting surface opposite to the mating surface and a notch extends from the mating surface toward the mounting surface. The notch terminates between the mating surface and the mounting surface. The notch separates rigidified sections of the mounting block and the rigidified sections straddle the notch. The stain gauge measures strain in the axle and thereby generates a signal proportional to the weight on the trailer. The signal can be used to properly proportion a brake system on the trailer.

The controller is configured to determine a steering angle of a work vehicle of the agricultural system, determine a target height of a ground engaging tool of the agricultural system based on the steering angle, and output a signal to control a height of the ground engaging tool relative to a soil surface based on the target height.
