A vehicle configuration wherein the center of mass of the vehicle is approximately superimposed upon the passenger and driver centers of mass when seated within the vehicle. An occupant's center of mass can be approximated using a standard center of mass position approximation, or a combination of any number of standard center of mass position approximations. The vehicle's center of mass can be approximately superimposed upon the occupant's center of mass in at least the longitudinal and vertical directions.

Side-by-side vehicle

A vehicle may include a CVT unit or a power source which requires ambient air. An air inlet for an air intake system coupled to the CVT unit or the power source which requires ambient air may be provided in a side of a cargo carrying portion of the vehicle. The vehicle may include a rear radius arm suspension.

Provided is a vehicle which, when a pair of left and right wheels are displaced with respect to the vehicle body due to the difference in drive force between the wheels, the two wheels are reliably displaced vertically in opposite directions such that neither wheel is disproportionately displaced and such that both wheels are steered during said displacement of both wheels vertically in opposite directions. The pair of left and right front wheels (3) are rotatably supported by a front wheel support member (29). An electric motor (25) applies drive torque to the front wheels (3) individually. A vehicle body frame (7) supports the front wheel support member (29) to allow rotation about a forwardly inclined steering axis (Lf). By allowing rotation of the front wheel support member (29) about the steering axis (Lf), the front wheels (3) are displaced relatively to one another vertically in opposite directions with respect to the vehicle body frame (7) and the front wheels (3) are steered. The front wheel support members (29) rotate due to the difference in torque applied to the front wheels (3) by the electric motor (25).

Side-by-side utility vehicle

A utility vehicle (2) comprises a plurality of ground engaging members (6, 8) and a frame (4) supported by the plurality of ground engaging members. The utility vehicle includes a front seating area (24) and a rear seating area (26). A rear cargo bed (20) is reconfigurable from a configuration where it is rearward of the rear seating area to a second configuration where it includes the rear seating area space. The vehicle includes a transmission (254) having a final drive portion (258) and a plurality of transmission shafts (672, 690, 702) housed in a common housing (650), the final drive portion being forward of an end of the plurality of transmission shafts. The vehicle also includes a front suspension (72) and a rear suspension (74).

Utility vehicle

A vehicle including: left and right bottom frames, extending in a front-rear direction, supporting a floor plate; a rear-gear support; a bottom rear frame coupling rear ends of the bottom frames, extending in a width direction, to which the rear-gear support is welded; left and right upper frames, extending in the front-rear direction, supporting a cargo bed; a rear lateral frame, coupling rear ends of the upper frames extending in the width direction; left and right rear vertical frames, extending in a top-bottom direction, coupling the upper frames and the bottom rear frames; left and right rear L-shape frames, extending in the front-rear direction and the width direction, coupling the rear vertical frames and the rear lateral frame; and left and right arm supports, supporting rear-wheel support arms, and having upper ends coupled to the rear L shape frames and lower ends coupled to the rear gear support.

A vehicle includes a torsion bar including a central portion, a left coupling, and a right coupling. The central portion extends in a lateral direction in front of a left drive shaft and a right drive shaft. The left coupling is positioned to the left of the central portion and coupled to a portion of a left lower arm that is rearward relative to the left drive shaft. The right coupling is positioned to the right of the central portion and coupled to a portion of a right lower arm that is rearward relative to the right drive shaft.

SIDE-BY-SIDE VEHICLE

A utility vehicle includes a plurality of ground-engaging members, a frame assembly, a cab frame assembly, a front suspension assembly, a rear suspension assembly, a power steering assembly, and a powertrain assembly, all of which may be configured to lower the center of gravity of the vehicle.

Rear suspension systems for laterally tiltable multitrack vehicles

A rear suspension system for a laterally tiltable, multitrack vehicle may include first and second trailing arms. The rear suspension system may further include first and second balancer systems acting between the first and second trailing arms. The first balancer system may create a torque to influence a leaning angle of the vehicle when the suspension system is in use. The second balancer system may suppress a resonant vertical motion of the vehicle when the suspension system is in use.

SIDE-BY-SIDE ATV

The present invention relates to all terrain vehicles having at least a pair of laterally spaced apart seating surfaces. More particularly, the present invention relates to trail compliant side-by-side all terrain vehicles.
