Vehicle suspension system
11117434 · 2021-09-14 · ·

A suspension system for a vehicle. The suspension system has a steering knuckle connected through suspension means with a vehicle chassis portion, guiding means and driving means. The guiding means enable movement of the steering knuckle with respect to the vehicle chassis portion along an arched pathway between a first and a second position. The driving means effect the movement of the steering knuckle between the first and the second position. The guiding means effect a selected angular orientation of the steering knuckle with respect to the vehicle chassis portion during the movement between the first position and the second position.

The invention relates inter alia to a steerable independent wheel suspension for a mobile agricultural machine. A support device serves for the pivotable mounting of the independent wheel suspension on a frame part of the agricultural machine. At least one guide column is mounted displaceably in the support device. A wheel hub is guided displaceably along the at least one guide column. A bracket is connected fixedly to the at least one guide column so as to move with the at least one guide column. The bracket can allow a flexible and improved arrangement of height adjustment means, damping means and spring-mounting means of the independent wheel suspension.

The invention relates to a chassis comprising a base (12) and four wheels (14) each being mounted on the base by way of a respective supporting device (16) and each being capable of being brought out of a transport position into an operating position of the chassis (10), and vice versa, wherein each supporting device comprises a support or carrier arm (18), which is arranged on the base via a proximal end (20) to be pivotable out of the transport position into the operating position of the chassis, and vice versa, and at a distal end (22) receives an axle journal (24) for rotation, a first control (30) for pivoting the support or carrier arm out of the transport position into the operating position of the chassis, and vice versa, the axle journal rotatably arranged at the distal end of the support or carrier arm, a stub axle (40), which is pivotably arranged on the axle journal and receives the wheel for rotation at a distal end (42) of the axle journal; and a second control (44) for pivoting the stub axle against the axle journal.

Wheel Module for a Motor Vehicle

A wheel module for a motor vehicle is provided with a wheel, a steering rod which can be rotatably mounted on a supporting frame of the motor vehicle for transmitting a steering motion to the wheel, a wishbone connected to the steering rod for forming an articulation point radially offset relative to the wheel, a rocker articulated to the articulation point of the wishbone and to the wheel, and a shock absorber connected to the rocker and the wishbone for damping vibration of a relative movement of the wheel. The shock absorber, in particular including a chassis spring, is arranged to be axially offset in the axial direction of the wheel relative to the wheel. With the shock absorber connected to the wheel and the wishbone and arranged next to the wheel, a large steering angle for a motor vehicle is possible with a small installation space.

POWERED WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE

A powered weight distribution system is provided for a vehicle having a platform on which a load is supported. The powered weight distribution system includes a shiftable axle assembly. The shiftable axle assembly includes a drivable axle and a frame supporting the drivable axle. The frame is configured to be supported on the platform. The frame is switchable between a locked configuration in which the frame is fixed relative to the platform and an unlocked configuration in which the frame is shiftable relative to the platform. The shiftable axle assembly further includes a powering element configured to rotatably drive the drivable axle, such that the frame and the drivable axle shift relative to the platform when the frame is in the unlocked configuration and the drivable axle is rotated by the powering element.

VEHICLE SUSPENSION POSITION ADJUSTMENT ARRANGEMENT

A vehicle suspension position adjustment arrangement including a frame member having a plurality of apertures, and a trailing arm having a first end pivotally coupled to a slide member and a second end biased away from the frame member. A locking pin movable between an unlocked position where the locking pin is withdrawn from one of the apertures and the slide member is free to slide along the frame member, and a locked position where the locking pin engages one of the apertures preventing the slide member from sliding along the frame member, and a plurality of sensors spaced along the frame member, wherein a single sensor of the plurality of sensors is configured to sense both the locking condition of the locking pin and the location of the locking pin along the frame member.
