FRONT TWO-WHEEL SUSPENSION SYSTEM
A front two-wheel suspension system having a pair of left and right front wheels includes: left and right upper kingpin axles that support the left and right front wheels and are pivoted in a yaw direction by a steering shaft; left and right knuckle arms that are coupled to the left and right upper kingpin axles and pivoted in the yaw direction by the steering shaft; left and right upper arms that couple the left and right knuckle arms and left and right cushion units; and left and right first pivots that make the left and right knuckle arms and the left and right upper arms pivotable in the yaw direction. The upper kingpin axles and the first pivots are coaxial.
MOTOR VEHICLE WHEEL SUSPENSION, MOTOR VEHICLE ASSEMBLY, MOTOR VEHICLE FORECARRIAGE AND MOTOR VEHICLE THEREOF
A motor vehicle wheel suspension, comprising a guide wheel having an outer jacket comprising a wheel attachment for the connection of the guide wheel to a rotation pin of a wheel. The guide wheel extends between opposite axial upper and lower ends in correspondence of which it comprises attachments for its connection to connection elements of an associated frame, wherein said outer jacket internally encloses a damper and a spring. The outer jacket, in correspondence of one of said axial upper and lower ends comprises a slot for realizing a first attachment to connection elements of the frame, said slot housing a pin axially guided by said slot, the slot connecting a cavity inside the outer jacket with said pin. The outer jacket, in correspondence of the other of said axial upper and lower ends comprises a tilting hinge for realizing a second attachment to connection elements of the frame.
AUTOMATIC TILTING VEHICLE
An automatic tilting vehicle is provided that includes left and right wheels supported by knuckles, a vehicle tilting device, and a control unit. The vehicle tilting device includes a swing member, an actuator for swing the swing member, and a pair of tie rods pivotally attached to the swing member and the knuckles. When a tilt angle of the vehicle is equal to or less than an allowable maximum tilt angle, a pivot point of the pivotal attachment portion at the lower end of the turning outer tie rod is located inside the vehicle with respect to a line segment connecting a grounding point of the corresponding wheel and a pivot point of the pivotal attachment portion at the upper end of the same tie rod.
Trike Vehicle with Selectively Pivotable Operator Cabin
The present invention is a hybrid crossover between an automobile and a motorcycle that is able to take tight comers almost like a motorcycle but is driven and handled like an automobile by optionally leaning into turns with one wheel in the front and two wheels in the rear of the vehicle and passenger compartment having an accelerator and brake pedals and steered with a steering wheel and gears that can be selected via a toggle switch gear selector located in the vicinity of the steering or by a floor and/or dash mounted unit.
Rear suspension systems with rotary devices for laterally tiltable multitrack vehicles
A suspension system for a laterally tiltable, multitrack vehicle may include a balancer system extending between first and second trailing arms. The suspension system may further include a rotary device acting between the trailing arms. One of the balancer system and the rotary device may be configured to provide a torque to influence a leaning angle of the vehicle and the other of the balancer system and the rotary device may be configured to suppress resonant vertical motion of the vehicle.
PASSIVE STEERING FOR TILTING VEHICLE
A tilting vehicle having a steering system actively steering a front axle and a rear axle having two wheels that can be deflected individually in a vertical manner with respect to a vehicle body and that are independent of the steering system. The wheels of the rear axle can be steered by passive steering device configured to generate a steering force because of a vertical deflection of the wheels as the vehicle body tilts to one side. The steering force causing wheels to steer towards the opposite side.
Leaning vehicle with wheel speed sensor
A vehicle includes an up-side-down suspension and a wheel speed sensor and a sensor wire. A left lower restrictor is fixed to a left inner connector or a member that is displaced relatively together with the left inner connector in association with the operation of a left shock absorber above a left wheel speed sensor as seen from the direction of a left wheel axis. At least a portion of the left wheel speed sensor is situated farther inwards than an outer edge of a left front inner tube in relation to a left-and-right direction, is situated below a left lower imaginary line when the left shock absorber extends to its maximum extent, and is provided on the left inner connector between a left front imaginary line and a left rear imaginary line when seen from the direction of the left wheel axis. The left sensor wire extends so as to intersect the left lower imaginary line when seen from the direction of the left wheel axis.
Three-wheeled tilting vehicle
An inclinable vehicle having a tilting front wheel set, comprising a double deformable parallelogram connecting the two front wheels to the chassis, and two dampers associated with suspension springs, each connecting one of the suspension arms, to a common connection plate, characterized in that said connection plate is guided by an arch secured to the chassis.
AUTOMATIC TILTING VEHICLE
An automatic tilting vehicle comprises left and right front wheels and a rear wheel. A control unit controls a vehicle tilting device so that the tilt angle of the vehicle becomes the target tilt angle. The control device is configured to swingingly vibrates the vehicle in the lateral direction by tilting the vehicle by the vehicle tilting device, to estimate a height of the center of gravity of the vehicle based on a resonance period of swinging vibration of the vehicle, and to correct the target tilt angle such that a perpendicular passing through the estimated center of gravity passes within a range of a triangle formed by connecting grounding points of the left and right front wheels and a grounding point of the rear wheel.
Leaning vehicle
In a vehicle, a portion of an upper cross member and a portion of a lower cross member at least temporarily overlap each other without coming into contact with each other when a body frame of the vehicle is caused to lean from an upright state to the left or the right with a maximum angle, as viewed from a front in a direction along a lower intermediate connecting axis.
