Dishwashing appliances and sensor assemblies for detecting a position of an appliance door
A dishwashing appliance may include a cabinet, a door, and a sensor assembly. The cabinet may extend along a lateral direction between a first side and a second side. The cabinet may define a wash chamber for receipt of articles for washing. The door may extend along a vertical direction between a top end and a bottom end. The door may be rotatably mounted to the cabinet to move along a rotation path between an opened position and a closed position. The sensor assembly may be attached to the cabinet to detect a positional angle of the door. The sensor assembly may include a wave emission sensor directed at the rotation path to project an emitted wave and a wave reception sensor spaced apart from the wave emission sensor to receive a reflection of the emitted wave.
SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING AN OPERATING STATE OF A DISHWASHER AND AN ACCORDING METHOD
A washing system for determining an operating state of a dishwasher comprises a dishwasher, in particular wherein the dishwasher comprises a dishwasher interface, a dispenser unit, in particular wherein the dispenser unit comprises a dispenser interface, wherein the dispenser unit is connected to the dishwasher for dosing a detergent to the dishwasher, a logic unit, in particular wherein the logic unit is connectable to the dishwasher interface and the dispenser interface, and a current sensor for measuring an electrical current consumed by the dishwasher, wherein the current sensor is connected to the logic unit. By replacing costly water meters by a current sensor, the cost efficiency of the washing system may be increased. In addition, the assembling and maintenance effort of the washing system may be reduced.
HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE AND METHOD OF OPENING THE SAME
A method of opening a door of a household appliance having a cabinet with an open face providing access to a treating chamber where an article is received for treatment according to a useful cycle of operation is provided. The method includes: sensing a presence of at least a portion of a person, visually indicating and automatically opening the door in response to the sensed presence.
Household appliance and method of opening the same
A method of opening a door of a household appliance having a cabinet with an open face providing access to a treating chamber where an article is received for treatment according to a useful cycle of operation is provided. The method includes: sensing a presence of at least a portion of a person within a predetermined range of the door and out of contact with the door; and automatically opening the door in response to the sensed presence.
Dishwasher, In Particular Domestic Dishwasher With A Rotatably Mounted Optical Detection Means
A dishwasher, in particular a domestic dishwasher, includes a washing compartment for accommodating items to be washed, a container delimiting the washing compartment, a pump for circulating washing liquid in the container, a wash program control apparatus for executing at least one wash program and for activating the pump, and at least one optical detector connected to the wash program control apparatus for optically detecting at least one compartment section or segment of the washing compartment. The wash program control device adjusts the wash program based on the state in the washing compartment detected by the optical detector. The optical detector is rotatably mounted inside the container so that different compartment sections or segments of the washing compartment are detected by the optical detector in dependence on or as a function of the position and/or the location of the optical detector.
Personalized cleaning composition dispensing device
A personalized cleaning composition dispensing device for use in an automatic dishwasher dispensing the right chemistry at the right time during a wash cycle to provide an improved cleaning performance compared to standard automatic dishwasher dispensers. The device includes wash cycle sensing system that controls the release of chemistry via temperature and water flow data measured during the current wash cycle and uses either a preprogrammed product release algorithm for new wash cycles or a modified product release algorithm based on wash cycle data previously stored in the data storage unit for repeated wash cycles.
DISH TREATING APPLIANCE WITH DIVERTER VALVE POSITION SENSING
A dish treating appliance for treating dishes according to an automatic cycle of operation and including a tub at least partially defining a treating chamber receiving dishes for treatment according to the automatic cycle of operation, multiple sprayers emitting a liquid into the treating chamber, and a diverter valve having a manifold defining a plenum with an inlet and multiple outlets and a membrane movably mounted within the plenum and having at least one through opening, which is sequentially aligned with the multiple outlets upon movement of the membrane.
WASHING APPLIANCE WITH IMPROVED CIRCULATION PUMP CONTROL
A washing appliance is provided, including: a tub configured to house items to be washed; an inlet valve operable to be selectively switched between an open condition for causing washing fluid to be loaded into the tub and a closed condition for preventing washing fluid be fed to the appliance; a circulation pump configured to circulate the washing fluid in the tub during a washing cycle; a control unit configured to determine an operative state of the circulation pump between a saturation state indicative that sufficient washing fluid is present in the tub to prevent air from being drawn out by the circulation pump, and a starvation state indicative that insufficient washing fluid is present in the tub to prevent air from being drawn out by the circulation pump. The control unit is further configured to receive an indication of a target speed for the circulation pump (130) and accordingly control the circulation pump by: causing a speed of the circulation pump to increase towards the target speed with a first speed increase rate; if the following two conditions a) and b) are both true: a) a starvation state of the circulation pump is determined before the speed of the circulation pump reached the target speed, and b) the inlet valve is in the open condition, causing the speed of the circulation pump to increase towards the target speed with a second speed increase rate lower than the first speed increase rate.
System for determining an operating state of a dishwasher and an according method
A washing system for determining an operating state of a dishwasher (12) comprises a dishwasher (12), in particular wherein the dishwasher (12) comprises a dishwasher interface (14), a dispenser unit (26), in particular wherein the dispenser unit (26) comprises a dispenser interface (28), wherein the dispenser unit (26) is connected to the dishwasher (12) for dosing a detergent to the dishwasher (12), a logic unit (30), in particular wherein the logic unit (30) is connectable to the dishwasher interface (14) and the dispenser interface (28), and a current sensor (24) for measuring an electrical current consumed by the dishwasher (12), wherein the current sensor (24) is connected to the logic unit (30). By replacing costly water meters by a current sensor (24), the cost efficiency of the washing system (10) may be increased. Method for Operating a Washing Appliance and Washing Appliance
A method for operating a laundry washing appliance having a washing chamber to wash laundry the method includes selecting a default washing temperature and/or a washing cycle having a default washing temperature; supplying a detergent to the washing chamber; and determining a type of the detergent which has been added. When the detergent is of a first type, then the method includes comparing the default washing temperature with a threshold temperature and if the default washing temperature is higher than the threshold temperature, then emitting a warning signal and/or changing said default washing temperature.
