The dishwasher may include at least one sensor configured to sense a rotational position of the wash arm and a control unit configured to monitor consecutive sensed rotational positions of the wash arm. The control unit may be configured to calculate a rotational speed of the wash arm based on an elapsed time and a rotational distance between two sensed rotational positions, and may be configured to estimate a current rotational position of the wash arm based on an elapsed time since a previously sensed rotational position and the calculated rotational speed. The control unit may adapt the pumping intensity of a pump of the dishwasher based on the estimated current rotational position of the wash arm.

Dishwasher comprising a reservoir and associated preheating method

A dishwasher includes a reservoir for storing washing fluid, and a control device configured for calling up at least one dishwashing program for controlling a washing cycle for washing items to be washed in a washing chamber and at least one preheating program for controlling a preheating cycle for preheating washing fluid for a washing cycle separately from each other. The preheating cycle includes a heating phase during which washing fluid is circulated and the circulated washing fluid is heated. The preheating cycle has downstream of the heating phase a pumping phase during which previously circulated and heated washing fluid is pumped into the reservoir.

METHOD AND CLEANING DEVICE FOR CLEANING ITEMS TO BE CLEANED

A method for cleaning items to be cleaned is disclosed. A cleaning device is used that has at least one cleaning chamber and at least one applicator for applying at least one cleaning fluid to the items to be cleaned in the cleaning chamber. A desired hygiene value is prespecified. The method further includes time-resolved recording of at least two influencing variables which influence hygienization of the items to be cleaned. Hygiene share values are determined from the influencing variables using a prespecified relationship between each influencing variable and the respective hygiene value share of said influencing variable. An expected actual hygiene value at the end of the cleaning from the hygiene value shares is ascertained and compared with the desired hygiene value. At least one of the influencing variables is changed based on the comparison. An inventive cleaning device is also disclosed.

In the inventive home appliance, a heat exchanger is arranged between the water supply unit and the water reservoir, for exchanging heat between the water supplied to the reservoir and the water discharged from the treatment space by the at least one pump unit.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING THE SUPPLY OF A LEVEL OF A LIQUID CONTAINED IN A VESSEL

A method includes actuating a pump at a constant nominal flow-rate to induce liquid flow out of a vessel through an outlet duct. The outlet duct communicates with the vessel with an upper aperture at an intermediate level height, and a lower aperture at a reduced level height. Flow of liquid is detected in the outlet duct. A digital signal assumes an alternate sequence of states when the liquid level is between the intermediate and reduced levels. Each state is an air-indicating state or liquid-indicating state. The presence or absence of air bubbles is detected in the flow of liquid. The digital signal is compared with a reference signal having a predetermined sequence of air-indicating states and liquid-indicating states. Pump actuation duration is modified as a function of a difference between the digital and reference signals. An apparatus is controls the supply of a liquid level in a vessel.

Warewasher idling system and method

A warewash machine for washing wares includes a chamber for receiving wares, the chamber having at least one spray zone. A spray system is provided in the spray zone for spraying liquid onto wares for cleaning. A tank captures sprayed liquid that falls within the spray zone. The tank includes a primary recirculation path for delivering liquid from the tank to the spray system, and a secondary recirculation path for delivering water out of the tank and back into the tank, without spraying within the spray zone, in order promote mixing within the tank.

The spray embodiment has high performance conical spray nozzle(s) controlled by a controller that reduces water usage and that may vary depending on the viscosity of the material to be eliminated. The recirculating embodiment has a recirculating water system, with a controller operating the components that recirculate water throughout the system until the turbidity exceeds a chosen threshold, and displace with fresh water until the turbidity returns to a lower threshold. The water resumes recirculation until it again exceeds the chose turbidity threshold and the water in the system is again displaced by fresh water. Both spray and recirculating embodiments can contain multiple rinse stations.
