Systems and methods for performing a sous-vide cooking cycle in a dishwasher appliance

A dishwashing appliance includes a tub defining a wash chamber, a pump configured to deliver a liquid into the wash chamber, a spray assembly provided within the wash chamber, conduit in fluid communication with the spray assembly, a rack slidably provided within the wash chamber, container attached to the rack and in fluid communication with the conduit, and a controller in communication with the pump and the spray assembly. The controller is configured to perform a series of operations, including determining that a cooking operation has been input to the dishwashing appliance, activating the pump to supply the liquid to the container at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined amount of time such that an amount of liquid within the container is above a first predetermined amount, and deactivating the pump after the predetermined amount of time.

Dishwashing appliances and fluid-loss mitigation

A wash or dishwashing appliance may include a cabinet, a tub, a door, a fluid pump, a controller, a low-power input sensor, and a conditioning circuit. The controller may be configured to alternate between an active operational mode and a standby mode. The low-power input sensor may be configured to detect a fluid-loss event at the dishwashing appliance at the standby mode of the controller and transmit a fluid-loss signal in response to detecting the fluid-loss event. The conditioning circuit may be attached to the cabinet in electrical communication with the low-power input sensor and separate from the controller. The conditioning circuit may be configured to receive the fluid-loss signal apart from the controller at the standby mode and initiate a mitigation action in response to receiving the fluid-loss signal.

Dishwasher with residue disposal device and control method therefor

The invention provides a dishwasher with a residue disposal device, comprising a housing and a liner, the liner is arranged in the housing, a spray assembly and a water collection assembly are arranged in the liner, the spray assembly is connected to the water collection assembly, the water collection assembly is provided with a drain hose, a residue disposal device is arranged on the drain hose and connected to the water collection assembly by means of a return pipe, and a three valve is arranged at a joint of the return pipe and the drain hose. The requirement for disposing residues in sewage in a water cup can be met, that is, a closed water path from the water collection assembly to the residue disposal device, the drain hose and the water collection assembly is formed, and under the action of a negative pressure generated by the residue disposal device arranged on the closed water path, water flows unidirectionally to wash the water cup, thus reducing the quantity of residues in the water cup. The requirement for discharging residues can be met, that is, the residue disposal device can replace a drain pump to form a discharge water path from the water collection assembly to the residue disposal device and the drain hose to promote processed food residues to be discharged from the drain hose. The whole process is implemented automatically without manual intervention.

Glass washing apparatus and related methods clean a glass and suppress formation of water spots. A glass washing apparatus includes a housing, an access door, a glass holder, a first side wash nozzle, a second side wash nozzle, a third side wash nozzle, an interior wash nozzle, a drying air outlet, a clean water tank, a dirty water tank, a wash water pump, a heater/blower unit, a control panel, and a control unit. The control unit receives a start signal from the control panel, controls transmission of power to the wash water heater, controls transmission of power to the wash water pump to supply heated clean water to the first side wash nozzle, the second side wash nozzle, the third side wash nozzle, and the interior wash nozzle; and controls transmission of power to the heater/blower unit to supply a flow of heated air to dry the glass.

Appliance and method for operation using fluid level detection by pattern recognition of motor current

An appliance and method for operating an appliance is provided. The appliance includes a pump configured to flow a volume of fluid, a flow nozzle configured to eject the fluid provided from the pump, and a motor configured to selectively operate the pump to flow the fluid through the flow nozzle. The method includes acquiring a dataset including a function of current magnitude and time corresponding to operation of a pump to flow a volume of fluid; determining an average current magnitude based at least on the dataset; determining a standard deviation based at least on the average current magnitude; comparing the standard deviation to a threshold to determine whether to transmit a control command based.
