The controller is programmed to determine corner forces associated with each air spring of the plurality of air spring assemblies based on a pressure provided by a pressure sensor and an effective area of each air spring of the plurality of air spring assemblies based on a total length provided by the suspension position sensor, according to a target total length of each air spring.

An emergency operating method for operating an active chassis of a motor vehicle in the event of a failure of a pump of the active chassis. The method includes (a) detecting a termination of a proper electrical supply of an electric drive machine of the pump; (b) short-circuiting the electric drive machine operated at high voltage; and (c) disconnecting the high-voltage supply of the electric drive machine.
Suspension system with dynamic weight balancing control
A method of automatically applying damping force interventions for dynamic weight balancing in a suspension system of a vehicle may include receiving ride height information associated with respective individual wheels of the vehicle and vehicle attitude information from vehicle sensors, determining, based on the ride height information and the vehicle attitude information, whether a trigger event has occurred, and generating a first damping intervention signal to change a damping force applied by a first selected adjustable damper responsive to determining that the trigger event has occurred. The first selected damper may be one of a plurality of adjustable dampers associated with respective ones of the individual wheels of the vehicle. The first selected adjustable damper may be associated with only one of a pair of rear wheels of the vehicle.
DYNAMIC LOAD DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FOR ADD-ON-AXLE TRAILERS
An add-on trailer is provided with a computer control system for automatically or semi-automatically monitoring and controlling the load equalizing function and preferably other functions of the add-on trailer. Display and control software is loaded into a portable computer such as a tablet or personal digital assistant (PDA), with wireless connection to the computer control system in the add-on trailer, such that the computer control system can be operated remotely.
Magnetorheological Bushing Steering System
A variable stiffness automotive suspension bushing (1) comprises a shaft or rod connected to a wheel member, an inner cylinder fixedly connected to the shaft or rod, and an outer cylinder fixedly connected to a chassis member. A magnetorheological (MR) elastomer, having iron particles embedded therein, is interposed between the inner and outer cylinders, and a coil is disposed about the inner cylinder. When the coil is energized by electrical current provided from a steering control module, a variable magnetic field is generated so as to influence the magnetorheological (MR) elastomer whereby variable stiffness values of the elastomer are obtained to provide the bushing (1) with variable stiffness characteristics in order to, in turn, provide the vehicle with optimal wheel deflection.
AUTOMATIC TILTING VEHICLE
An automatic tilting vehicle comprises left and right front wheels and a rear wheel. A control unit controls a vehicle tilting device so that the tilt angle of the vehicle becomes the target tilt angle. The control device is configured to swingingly vibrates the vehicle in the lateral direction by tilting the vehicle by the vehicle tilting device, to estimate a height of the center of gravity of the vehicle based on a resonance period of swinging vibration of the vehicle, and to correct the target tilt angle such that a perpendicular passing through the estimated center of gravity passes within a range of a triangle formed by connecting grounding points of the left and right front wheels and a grounding point of the rear wheel.

TRANSPORT TRAILER LOAD BALANCING SUSPENSION AND STEERING SYSTEMS
A multi-axle transport trailer having a plurality of axles includes a suspension comprising air bags associated with each axle, the air bags in communication with an air source, wherein air bags associated with different axles are capable of having different air pressures therein. The trailer further optionally includes a steering system associated with at least one axle, the axle including a tie rod connected between wheels on both ends of the axle, the steering system comprising cylinders configured to articulate the wheels, and a sensing device configured to monitor movement of the tie rod and facilitate actuating the cylinders to turn the wheels.
