A system for dosing substances such as cleaning and/or care agents is disclosed. The system includes a dosing device, at least one energy source, a control unit, a sensor unit, and at least two cartridges for respectively accommodating at least one of the cleaning and/or care agents. The at least two cartridges are capable of being coupled to the dosing device.

A method for monitoring usage of a consumable in an appliance includes optically scanning a consumable container with a reader of a mobile computing device, establishing a volume of consumable within the consumable container based upon the optical scan of the consumable container by the reader, determining a volume of consumable dispensed in an appliance, and activating a low consumable alert in response to a difference between the established volume of consumable and the determined volume of dispensed consumable being less than a threshold volume.

A retrofittable sensor unit for controlling a dosing device of a cleaning machine includes an acquisition module having at least one sensor for capturing measurement variables, at least one monitoring unit for determining a current degree of soiling of articles for cleaning on the basis of the captured measurement variables, a communication unit configured to communicate with at least one dosing device, in particular to transmit a dosing command to at least one dosing device depending on the current degree of soiling of the articles for cleaning. The retrofittable sensor unit can be arranged separately from the dosing device.

A conveyor dishwashing machine (1) has at least one washing zone (7), and at least one final rinse zone (8) which is connected downstream (as viewed in the transport direction (T) of the wash items) of the at least one washing zone (7). A retrofit auxiliary device for distributing cleaning resources to a household cleaning appliance having a treating chamber is described wherein the device can connect to various household cleaning appliances of different makes and models and can learn the flow of water and detergent during various stages of operation and then perform the dispensing itself.

A fluid-driven chemical product dispensing system dispenses fluid chemical product concentrates. The dispensing system includes a fluid drive unit powered by flow of a fluid, such as a diluent, and a pump which delivers the fluid chemical product concentrate from a supply to a destination. Upon exit from the fluid drive unit, the diluent is also delivered to the destination, where it mixes with the dispensed fluid chemical product concentrate to form a use solution. The dilution ratio of the volume of fluid chemical product concentrate dispensed per unit time versus the volume of diluent exiting the drive unit per unit time is constant over a defined range of diluent flow rates.

A dishwasher with for treating dishes according to a cycle of operation. A camera system is arranged above or below or to the side of the conveyor apparatus and is configured in order capture at least one image of a portion of the conveyor apparatus, preferably continuously or at predetermined or determinable times and/or events. A control device is configured in order to, during a learning or observation phase over at least one observation period or over a plurality of observation periods each relating to a washing shift or a washing day of the conveyor warewasher or a portion thereof, determine a chronological profile of the loading of the conveyor apparatus with washware to be conveyed, wherein the control device is configured in order to deduce a pattern or a regularity based on the determined chronological profile of the loading of the conveyor apparatus with washware.
