A sun visor includes a screen slidably mounted over a shaft attachable to a vehicle. A guiding profile is mounted in the screen, and a slider is rotatably mounted over the shaft and housed inside the guiding profile such that the guiding profile can slide longitudinally over the slider to establish a slide on rod function for the sun visor. A detent spring clip is attached to the slider and engages elastically over the shaft of the sun visor such that upon rotation of the screen of the sun visor, it is possible to establish a shading position and an inoperative position for the sun visor. The detent spring clip includes an asymmetrical shape to fit to an asymmetrical core shape of the slider in a single position. The slider includes an asymmetrical external shape to fit to an asymmetrical internal shape of the guiding profile in a single position. The guiding profile includes an asymmetrical external shape to fit to an internal shape of the screen in a single position.

Vehicle mounted virtual visor system with rate-limited optical state changes
11673454 · 2023-06-13 · ·

A virtual visor system is disclosed that includes a visor having a plurality of independently operable pixels that are selectively operated with a variable opacity. A camera captures images of the face of a driver or other passenger and, based on the captured images, a controller operates the visor to automatically and selectively darken a limited portion thereof to block the sun or other illumination source from striking the eyes of the driver, while leaving the remainder of the visor transparent. The virtual visor system advantageously limits the rate of change of the opacity of each pixel of the visor while updating the optical state of the visor. In this way, rapid and distracting changes in the optical state of the visor are avoided, thereby improving the safety of the vehicle.

Auxiliary sun visor

An auxiliary sun visor that attaches to an existing vehicle sun visor assembly which allows the auxiliary visor to act as a front facing sun block while the standard vehicle visor can be swung ninety degrees to block sun coming in from the side window. A hook assembly on one side of the auxiliary visor snaps onto the existing hinge post of the standard vehicle visor. A crescent shaped member of the auxiliary sun visor is trapped inside the standard visor's receiver hook, behind the tubular shaped end portion of the standard visor. The auxiliary visor is adjustable lengthwise to accommodate different vehicle visor sizes. A spring steel member holds the sun blocking panel of the auxiliary visor in the upward, upward position when not in use.

SUN VISOR HAVING EXTENDED RANGE OF MOTION

An extended-range sun visor assembly includes a rail and a sun visor panel. The sun visor panel is releasably mounted to the rail at an inboard sun visor panel end and slidably mounted to the rail at an outboard sun visor panel end. The rail may be fixed at opposite ends thereof to a vehicle roof panel and/or headliner. The sun visor panel is releasably mounted at the inboard end by a snap fit retainer, and slidably mounted at the outboard end by a shaft coupler configured to slide along a longitudinal axis of the rail. The shaft coupler pivots or swivels around a shaft coupler vertical axis.

The first form is a form in which a display surface of the display panel is suspended, and the second form is a form in which the display panel is stored upward.

ROTATION SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE SUN VISOR

A rotation system for a vehicle sun visor that includes a rod coupled to the vehicle sun visor, wherein the rod is configured to couple to a vehicle to support the vehicle sun visor within an interior of the vehicle, and the rod is configured to facilitate rotation of the vehicle sun visor about the rod. The rotation system also includes a contact element non-rotatably coupled to the rod. The rotation system further includes a biasing element configured to urge a contact surface against the contact element to control rotation of the vehicle sun visor about the rod.
