A tarp deploying apparatus includes radial arm with a proximal radial arm and a distal arm. The distal arm is formed from a flexible material such as a double-walled hydraulic hose. The distal arm attaches to a tarp roller to deploy the tarp over a storage area on a trailer with at least one rear door. The radial arm is mounted on a mounting bracket secured to one of the doors. A releasable connector between the arms permits the distal arm to be separated from the proximal arm so that the rear doors on the trailer can be opened and closed without interference from the radial arm.

A retractable truck bed cover having an array of parallel aluminum slats joined together by connective hinges including leading and trailing edge configuration for improving the security of the cover by covering and concealing the seam between adjacent slats while improving the connective hinge's resistance to the effects of aging and/or exposure to temperature fluctuations. The truck bed cover connective hinge slat is designed to be in an array of discrete slats, which are joined to one another by means of joiner members secured at each end to slat end caps. A retractable truck bed closure is disclosed herein. The retractable truck bed closure comprises a pair of frames that extend across a truck bed between sidewalls of the truck bed. The closure may be moved between a stored configuration and an extended configuration along the pair of frames to open, and close, a portion of the truck bed, respectively. The frames may be attachable to the truck, or may be integrated into portions of the truck, such as the sidewalls of the truck bed or the rear of the cab of the truck.

A tonneau cover assembly that selectively covers a truck bed of a truck is provided. The tonneau cover assembly includes a cover and a longitudinally extending rail located adjacent a sidewall of the truck bed. The longitudinally extending rail includes an attachment member. The attachment member extends longitudinally along with the rail and at least a portion of the attachment member is located over a portion of the bed. The cover includes a stiffener located adjacent the attachment member of the longitudinally extending rail.

A retractable cover system includes a pre-assembled drive system including a main roller about which a flexible cover is wrapped. Bows support the flexible cover in an extended position. The bows include a last bow. A drive motor is operatively coupled to the main roller and is configured to move the flexible cover between the extended position and a retracted position. A pre-assembled guide rail includes a cable system that has a driven gear operatively coupled to a drum. A cable is wrapped about the drum and at least one idler. The last bow is unsecured to the cable of the pre-assembled guide rail. A joint is configured to interconnect the pre-assembled guide rail to the pre-assembled drive system in an assembled condition to provide an assembled retractable cover system. The joint permits the drive gear and the driven gear to engage one another in the assembled condition. The last bow is secured to the cable in the assembled condition.
