The surround (3; 101) has a light transmitting element (15; 103) for transmitting light from a light source (19; 111). The present invention also relates to a light transmitting element (15; 103) for a surround (3; 101); a controller for a daylight opening surround (3; 101); and a motor vehicle (1).

Automobile door sealing member

If a sealing member is mounted to a planar sealing member-mount extending from a window frame toward outside of the cabin, separation of a terminal portion of the sealing member from the window frame is to be reduced. A fixing member made of a hard material is provided on a terminal portion of the sealing member in a front-rear direction of a vehicle. The fixing member has a body portion, an engagement portion, and a fixing target portion. The body portion is fixed to the terminal portion of the sealing member. The engagement portion holds the planar sealing member-mount in a thickness direction. The fixing target portion is fixed to a portion of the window frame remote from the planar sealing member-mount in the front-rear direction of the vehicle.

Disclosed is a glass run for an automobile door which may block noise that has passed through a door glass from easily reaching the passenger's ears, while reducing an increase in the weight and cost of the glass run. In the glass run, a space R is formed between a base end portion 41b of an inner seal lip 41 located inside a cabin and an inner surface 22b of a door glass 22 facing inside the cabin. A facing surface 41d of the inner seal lip 41 facing the inner surface 22b of the door glass 22 is provided with a sound absorbing portion 41h which absorbs noise that has entered the inside of the cabin through the door glass 22.

WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF ISOLATING DISSIMILAR METALS IN THE WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY
20170282699 · 2017-10-05 · ·

A weatherstrip assembly includes a body having a carrier or core formed from a first metal for providing strength and rigidity to the body. A show surface of the weatherstrip assembly is formed of a second metal different than the first metal. The second metal acts as the show surface of the weatherstrip assembly. An isolative, electrically low conductivity layer is received only on portions of the first metal that are disposed adjacent to portions of the second metal and potentially subject to electrical contact therebetween.
