Changing of a direction or turning of the electric vehicle (1) is performed by changing the rotational speed or a rotation direction by gearboxes (43R, 43L) for the power from the electric motors (41R, 41L).
Swingarm concentric motor drive for electric motorcycle
A motorcycle includes an electric motor having an output shaft defining a motor axis, a rear wheel drivably coupled to the electric motor to propel the motorcycle, a swingarm rotatably supporting the rear wheel, and a frame. The frame includes a main frame member supporting the electric motor and the swingarm. A case of the electric motor is a stressed member of the frame between the main frame member and the swingarm. The swingarm is coupled to the case of the electric motor to define a swingarm pivot axis that is co-axial with the motor axis.
Hyper-Compact Electric All-Terrain Vehicle Drivetrain and Conversion Kit
The present invention relates to electric drivetrain kits for converting all-terrain vehicles into hybrid or electric vehicles. In exemplary embodiments, a conversion kit replaces an existing standard single motor and transmission drive system with a dual set-up including a motor for each rear wheel and a split transmission that houses two sets of gear reduction components in a single housing or an all-wheel configuration with two transmission sets (front and rear). Dual output shafts in each transmission set drive the wheels independently to provide the torque needed as required and demanded by each wheel. System electronics send signals to the motors and other components to manage the system and independently control each wheel.
TRANSMISSION UNIT, POWER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM AND VEHICLE COMPRISING THE SAME
A transmission unit includes: input shafts, each of the input shafts being provided with a shift driving gear thereon; output shafts, each of the output shafts being provided with a shift driven gear configured to mesh with a corresponding shift driving gear; a generator gear disposed on one of the output shafts; a motor power shaft; a first motor power shaft gear disposed on the motor power shaft and configured to rotate together with the generator gear; a second motor power shaft gear disposed on the motor power shaft and configured to rotate together with a shift driven gear; a reverse idler gear; and a reverse output gear configured to rotate together with a shift driving gear via the reverse idler gear. A power transmission system including the transmission unit and a vehicle including the power transmission system are also provided.
Centerless wheel assembly
The present disclosure may relate to a wheel that may include first and second exoskeleton plates. The wheel may also include first and second roller guide assemblies that each include one or more bearings, a roller guide coupled with the one or more bearings, and a shaft spanning the first and second exoskeleton plates and coupled with the roller guide such that the roller guide rotates around the shaft. The wheel may also include a tire and a centerless rim coupled with the tire. The centerless rim may be configured to have a shape that corresponds to a shape of the roller guide, and the roller guide may be configured to contact the centerless rim as the centerless rim rotates. The wheel may also include a first limiter to maintain contact between the centerless rim and the roller guide, and a second limiter.
Hybrid axle assembly for a motor vehicle
An axle assembly for an electric or hybrid vehicle includes electrically powered drive motors for respectively driving vehicle wheels. The axle assembly preferably includes a dual motor arrangement, wherein two electric motors are arranged end-to-end. Each motor includes an inverter that is directly connected to its respective motor, and includes a gearbox assembly coupled between an output of the motor and a corresponding constant-velocity (CV) joint operatively connected to a wheel. The inboard ends of the motors are secured to opposite faces of a cooling manifold wherein the cooling manifold maintains the motors in axial alignment. The cooling manifold plate is positioned between an inboard end of each of the motor housings, and the cooling manifold plate axially aligns the first and second motors. Further, each motor drives its respective gearbox assembly, which includes a gear reduction and clutch mechanism having a brake band assembly that is selectively operable to disconnect the respective motor from the vehicle wheel associated therewith.
Motor-vehicle hybrid powertrain unit
A motor-vehicle hybrid powertrain unit comprises an internal combustion engine for driving the rear wheels of the motor-vehicle and one or two electric motors for driving the front wheels of the motor-vehicle. The internal combustion engine has an engine block below which there is provided no oil sump. The one or two electric motors are arranged immediately below the block of the internal combustion engine in the space, which in a conventional engine, is occupied by the oil sump.
Vehicle corner module and methods for installation thereof
Some embodiments relate to a vehicle corner module (VCM) connectable to a VCM-connection interface of a reference-frame of a vehicle platform (e.g. for regulating motion of a vehicle). Some embodiments relate to a multi-interface connection-element for connection of multiple electronic or flow vehicle subsystems of a vehicle to a Vehicle Corner Module (VCM). Related methods are disclosed herein.
VEHICLE DRIVE SYSTEM
A vehicle drive system includes a slip acquisition unit that acquires occurrence of excessive slip, an addition slip point calculating unit that calculates addition slip points in a time-discrete manner, based on having acquired that the excessive slip has occurred, a cumulative slip point calculating unit that accumulates the addition slip points and calculates a cumulative slip point over time, a drive state switching unit that switches between 2WD and AWD based on cumulative slip points and a drive state switching threshold value, and a cumulative slip point resetting unit triggered by a lateral acceleration correlation value of the vehicle reaching a lateral acceleration threshold value or higher, or a drive force correlation value of the drive wheels reaching a drive force correlation threshold value or higher, to reset the cumulative slip point to a value smaller than the drive state switching threshold value.
